Sure - it's the worst kept secret that conveniently gets ignore by reporters, commissioners and Senators alike.

Goodell is understandable - he didn't want to draw attention to the fact that the Chicago Bears were renowned for filming practices and espionage going back to 1955, let alone all the other incidences.

the Chiefs too were famous for cheating, as documented in the Lee Groscup article I posted several times.

And here, in an article easilly found right on ESPN is a story from before all this spygate stuff broke in August, documenting, among other things, Herm Edward's admission that he used Stickum long after it was banned by the NFL.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/cheat...ory?id=2957893

so what's changed now that's prompted the US Senate to get involved? Nothing, except the signficant campaign contributions from Comcast to Specter. It's looking like the Patriots are just getting caught in the crossfire between Comcast and the NFL Network.

This entire thing, should have ended with the Fine and loss of draft pick penaly the Pats were given after they violated rules of taping, they were specifically warned about violating. Mangini pulled a very "gamesmanship" move complaining about the video equipment, he probably knew that it was in violation because of the "covered on 3 sides" stipulation in the rule and complained just to be a prick toward Bill B. I would guess, and would hope, had Mangini, known that this entire thing would put a black eye on all of football, not just an "ef you" to the Pats for that one game, he wouldn't have mentioned it.

I hope this goes away, I really don't care who they taped, what they taped or what they did during any games in the past.

Everything I hear says there was no "walkthrough" taping, so I'm cool. Lets move on and talk about the upcoming season and what it means for our teams and the "clashes" we will have this year on the field.

Hey, that's my line. I have said that right along. I just posted in another thread that people worried about stealing signals in sports should be WNBA fans. Get Real. A columnist that gets it, too bad we don't have a few of those around here.
