It says possible suitors.

And hes not a bad option to pick up if we cant afford Gaffney.

"possible suitors". Your thread title needs work

Anyway, right now we only have Welker and likely Moss. Stallworth, Gaffney, Washington, Brown, they're all going ot be FA. It'll be interesting to see what we do. A FA WR who could be interesting depending how they feel about him is Jerry Porter.

Would he come cheaper than Gaffney though?

Interesting, hadn't thought of him. I'm still keen on seeing what Chad Jackson can do, but that is an interesting thought.

Understood but it reads like you'd heard it had happened. Anyway . . .

Somehow Porter averaged 16.0 YPC last year and is still under 30. He has had some personality issues but if the price were right and they were OK with him, he is interesting to me.

He'd be an upgrade over Stallworth, IMO. But I'm not too familiar with the strengths of Porter's game, just his #s, which are impressive.

But we don't just need a deep threat for that #2/3 spot. Chad Jackson projects as a very well rounded wideout, and that's really what we need there - the problem is he's such an unknown at this point. But we need someone who runs routes well, is a smart receiver, still can go deep, still can go over the middle, good YAC, just all around strengths in every regard - which is actually the rep CJ had coming in. I don't know Porter enough to make a judgment in this regard. Stallworth ended up not fulfilling all the things needed in his spot on the depth chart.

I would say we specifically don't need another deep threat as the other starter, that's why Stallworth was losing time in the second half. Another good route runner, another Welker would be great for me.
