really? I thought they were close (relatively speaking for colleagues) they would always do videos together etc

Twitter is a tool: it is about whatever the user wants it to be about. In many cases, yes, that's self promotion, but that's definitely not always the case. I get that a lot of people don't understand how media has evolved over the past decade or two, but in the modern world you have to be on Twitter if you rely on drawing people to your website. It's not optional.

That said, I agree that what Gasper tweeted seems an awful lot like self-promotion packaged as moral indignation.

For the record, being offered a position with ESPNBoston.com along with the labor situation and future uncertainty at the Globe was the reason Reiss left. Not Gasper. It was a great opportunity for him, and to my knowledge they had a good relationship.

Gasper has a good point on this topic, although generally I feel as though he tries too hard. That's a low class move by Rapaport, you can't do that.
