Default Some Thoughts On Kelley Washington

I was reflecting on what we saw from Kelley Washington this year. He made a great effort to turn himself into a football player this year. In a way ... it seems to bad he chose the receiver route for his career. Watching him play special teams this year and his tackling ability leads me to believe he would have made a better than average free safety in the league.

Free Safety special team (possibly captain type) of a player he could have carved himself a way decent career. I don't want to diminish what he has done as a receiver ... barring those injuries he might have made a teams #2 ... who knows.

I just am so amazed in what he has done this year. Perhaps 27 is to old to make the switch ... I don't know but if I were him I would think about it. At 6-3 and his 4.5 speed is enough. Wasted 4 years trying to play baseball and had a huge attitude problem ... all in the past now .. just wondering what others thought.

Kelley Washington is the perfect patriot. He can contribute in more than one area, and is great in at least one area. He's a fine receiver. Why switch him to safety? He should always have a job as a #2-#5 receiver and a top speecial teamer.

I see that ... I just don't see Belichick utilizing him on special teams if he is more than the #5 receiver ... that's what made me think the thread. I think he is way valuable as a special teamer. I'd give him a look as a dime back at least ala Troy Brown.
