Default I think our Offensive Line is OVERRATED

I think the Pats O-Line is overrated. And i've felt this way since the season started. Brady is the BEST at moving around the pocket and avoiding sacks. So spare me the stats about how many times he was sacked this year, and using it to defend the O-Line.

I'm not saying they are bad. I think they are good and do a good job. But they are not the best in the league and anyone who thinks this is an idiot or Pats-hater.

The O-Line has been praised all year long to try and explain why Brady was so great this year. It's part of the deal where nobody can just call Brady great, there has to be an underlying reason (spygate, BB, Charlie Weis, the Line, etc.)
Nobody can just admit that he's the best.

The O-Line did do a good job in many games and they sure gave Brady plenty of time against Miami. They also did a good job against Cincinnati and some other teams with crappy pass rushes.

But when it came to teams that are known for blitzing or applying a lot of pressure on the QB, they weren't so hot.
I'm talking about Baltimore, Philadelphia, THE NEW YORK GIANTS, and San Diego.

I'm not just saying this b/c of the last game, even though they were atrocious. They knew all week what was going to happen and were still horrendous. Matt Light's false starts are beyond irritating.

I think they are probably a top 10 O-Line, but this crap about them being the best is a joke.

Do you think part of this is related to the way Brady goes way out of his way to praise them and make sure they get credit?

Light is OK, but he is no pro bowler, never felt he was. Kaczur is average at best. Koppen picked an awful time to have his worst game of the season.

I'm sure that is part of it. Brady is a great guy and gives them credit when he plays well, like any QB who is lucky enough to be in the NFL should.

He doesn't pull a Peyton Manning and say "we had some protection problems"

absolutely.

I feel that the 3 offensive linemen making the pro bowl had a lot to do with how well Brady played.

Light = VERY overrated. Gets overmatched alot.

Mankins = the best of the group. Don't can this guy.

Koppen = one of the better centers in the league, but, still overrated.

Neal = needs to be a backup. Not good enough to be a starter. He is a feel good story, but, he is a backup.

Kazcur = DEF. needs to be a backup. The weakest part of this group.

Light sucks. If it wasn't bad enough that he looked like a turnstile, he also screwed us Sunday with his stupid false start penalties. They need to move him over to the right side and get a real left tackle.

Yes his holding penalties and false starts are very irritating.

I hate having to see his red face walk back to the huddle after committing a penalty. You see this way too much.
