Default Burress injury gamesmanship...or real?

Giants | Burress expected to play in Super Bowl XLII
Fri, 1 Feb 2008 16:44:02 -0800

New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress (ankle, knee) was limited in practice Friday, Feb. 1, and is listed as questionable. Burress is expected to play in Super Bowl XLII but may be limited.

This is from kffl.com........What say you? gamesmanship or are these legitimate injuries that could seriously limit Plaxico (AKA "the crystal ball predictor")??

Dunno....could be actual gamesmanship, or Plax may really have experienced swelling in the knee area. The fact that he actually came out of practice, with time now so short, makes me lean toward the fact he may have really experienced some swelling.

Do you know how many times he practiced in the last few weeks of the season? Almost never at all....But he still played every Sunday. This is a Non story. The writers have to fill their time somehow. He'll play

He will play. How well and how long is the question. The Pats will be ready for him. I hope.

Just curious.... Does anyone know what kind of penalty a team would incur if they get caught misrepresenting an injury on the injury report? (I'm sure it's pretty hard to prove malfeasance in something like this though.)

He has missed chunks of practice all year with ankle and knee injuries, so I think this is legit. Actually I think his first near full week of practice was week 17 heading into our match up with the Giants, but I could be mistaken. I could see the injuries flaring up and them shutting him down rather than risk the injury.

who cares, it's not like him NOT playing changes anything. BB game plans for him to play, if he doesn't it doesn't change his plan.

Since when is missing practice gamesmanship?

He's been running on a bad ankle for months. Suddenly we're surprised that he's developed another leg injury?
