Why say it during Super Bowl week? At the very least, let this week be about the players you represent.

Because some owners have recently commented on possibly opting out of the CBA.

If they strike, they are fools... they would kill the golden goose... This leauge makes other sports look foolish.. Of one of the best super bowl weeks every and they have to bring up something negative...

Of course he said it. He has to say it.

Why say it this week? Because the union head and the commish always adress league issues Super Bowl week. Goddell will touch on the same issue when he speaks tomorrow.

What does it mean? Nothing.

If they strike they are fools? You've got to be kidding me.

They would only strike in response to owners opting out of the CBA. I think given the fact that owners make so much more off of this league than players do and the players do not have guaranteed contracts like the other two major sports I could hardly blame the NFLPA if they strike.

as long as bob kraft and jerry jones hold the line, the owners won't opt out. and, we're naive if we don't think that had a lot to do with how quickly Goodell "got rid of" Spygate and resisted the yahoos who wanted to have bb suspended or make the patriots forfeit a game. kraft held the trump card in that discussion, without ever having to mention the fact.

I think the successfull owners need to hold strong against the strap-hanger owners. Why should they dumb down their success to help these inept teams.

What the league should do is make rules that is you suck and if your team sucks for too long a time then you will be forced to sell it to people who know how to make $$$. If teams like Buffalo don't have enough fans to keep the team afloat then move it to a place where the fans will support it ... it's capitalism at its best and it's the way it should be. Just because you can afford a team is not enough anymore. Know what the frig you are doing ... spend some time at the stadium and find ways to make it work or sell it.

BTW ... what is the Jets excuse for sucking ... they suck because they suck from the top down ... sell them and move them so we can be rid of their stupidity.

Bob Kraft is one of the owners who said they were going to opt out. It's my understanding the reason for this is that the owners still can't agree on revenue sharing so they are going to try and take that out on the players.
