Default Mike Tirico made possibly the single dumbest statement of the 2007 NFL season

"Al Davis still has a brilliant football mind."

I had to rewind my DVR to make sure I heard him correctly.

Sure he does. He got a fourth-rounder for a washed-up Randy Moss.

Tirico? Absolutely not. He was dead serious, and he repeated it.

I think if he had said "had" vs. has it would be more appropriate. And it's too bad because the NFL would be better with the Raiders as contenders. They'd be a great foil for the type of team the Patriots have built, far better than Indy or SD would make as rivals.

As far as this:

I'd have to not make that a non issue due to the fact the "darling" of the NFL, Favre was incensed that the Packers didn't pick him up for a #3. If Davis "had what he had" in the old days Moss would be a star in black and silver as a reclamation project.
