Interesting effort as we wait for external sources to give direction to the folks who should be negotiating and not litigating. As usual if it sounds too good to be true it usually is, does anyone have any knowledge of Sports Fan Coalition..

If valid is this something we should get behind?? Maybe if this effort is fan driven, then it may have a quicker outcome..

It is a friends of the court brief. No biggie. Anyone can form an organization and file such a brief. This organization could have two members for all we know. Their Twitter account had 67 followers. My guess it is a very small group.

My take is if you agree with their position, support them. If you don't, don't. They don't represent the fans as a whole, but they do represent a significant chunk of fans views.

My guess is that they will have little effect on the process. Friends of the Court briefs are just like character witnesses in a trial, they help to support the argument they are supporting but don't carry a lot of weight most of the time. I think the owners and players are also keeping a close eye on the public reaction to the process so unless they get millions to sign their petition, I don't think they will do much to convince either side to change strategy.

I don't know who these "Voice of the Fans" are saying they represent. They don't represent me, nor do I authorize them to speak or take positions, in my behalf.

I might even like to see the issue tested and settled, and would even consider removing the Antitrust Sword of Damocles from a perpetual resort every few years, one way or the other.

For all I know this is a pure PR exercise by either the Owners or Players.
