Well since we are dealing with an immature poster I thought I'd start a legit discussion. Obviously the Pats will start with stopping the run.

But how did the Pats disrupt the giants offense before?

The key was rushing Eli into bad decisions. When he had all day he was performing very well. A major concern is the Pats seem to be having difficulty getting a legit pass rush with a 4 man line. They miss Colvin sorely. We need vrabel to have a big game.

So the pats need to blitz Eli. They really didn't blitz him in the first half and brought the heat in the second half. Eli is just like Peyton where his decision making turns into mush.

I'm sure they'll be conservative with their defense but at key times they need to bring Rodney. Rodney has become one of their best pass rushers.

I think Vrabel and Samuel will have good games. We need to pressure Eli and that will be the key

Sorry Biggles .. I didn't see this post. I agree and I think we'll see alot of James Sanders and possibly Merriweather. This was a key tactic in the Super Bowl victories in 2001 and 2003. Ty Law was a beast when he pulled the corner blitz. Perhaps due to their size we don't see it much from Samuel and Hobbs. Merriweather is built more solid ... I think he's made for it. Perhaps blitzing alot form the nickel?

I think the key will be to give Eli a lot of different looks and surprise him with the Blitz. I think he had a very difficult time making the proper adjustments when he needed to. With two weeks to get ready for him, I would be shocked if Belichick did not have a great, complicated defense for him to deal with.

The thing that we have to be careful of is running out of steam in the 4th Quarter. The Super Bowl is so long and dragged out. Look for some extra DL to be actived in this game. They need to keep as many players fresh as possiable for the second half.

definitely would be a wrinkle we haven't seen much. we haven't seen many exotic defensive schemes. one would wonder since the pats are playing the giants a second time if BB is going to come up with something unique. i think he will. sanders or Merr. would be a change up from rodney. we've only seen hobbs blitz one that i can recall and he caused a fumble in the buffalo game. i don't think the pats can afford to only send 4 the majority of the game unless vrabel, ad, or jarvis have a big game.

excellent points. i'm guessing lekevin smith is next on the depth chart after jarvis? we miss colvin big time. his pass rush skills are so underated.

on the other side i wonder if strahan and osi will wear themselves out.

i would also love to see the pats just line up with 3te's and run it right at the giants since they will not have the right side of the line and kyle brady who is a big dude.

will the giants not know how to pace themselves?

I think you'll see the "Drew Bledsoe" "Creep" Times Square" whatever you want to call it used here.. You know the one Mangini wants to copy, but can't because only Master Bill knows how to run it..

This may be but don't forget Sanders. He has been used in the past and
may be the guy most overlooked by the Giants. Bill could have a special
role for James in this game.
I hope Sanders has a huge game.
