OT: Supporters Club??? - New England Patriots Forums

No, I'm not talking about a fan club where fans meet up at a bar to watch games and make a road trip to Gillette every year (not that there's anything wrong with fan clubs).

I'm talking about a Supporters Club!!!

I would love to see us have an official supporters club, like they have in soccer. The supporters group would only include the fans that want to be LOUD throughout the game and possibly even stand up during most or all of the game (depending if the whole group is ok with that). There would be a designated section or two in Gillette for the Supporters Club, preferably in one of the endzones (or both

). I'm not saying they have to sing songs and jump around all game like in soccer (although it would be awesome), but to just keep a good atmsphere going all game. Also, traveling to away games would be great and to have a pro-Pats atmosphere for every game.

You all know that the atmosphere at Gillette can sometimes be......meh, but a supporters club is the answer to that!!!

I'm not against the concept, but just curious how it would be implemented considering all the games are sold out (and therefore all seats are spoken for.)

A representative from the Pats at the stadium apparently decides this person (but not that person) are sufficiently loud enough to qualify. What if the new seats in the endzone are not as good? What criteria are there for evicting people already in those seats who are deemed to be 'not loud enough'?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against any idea for making Gillette louder. I'm just trying to get a handle on how it would work - or why the Pats would have any incentive to make this happen.

If you're looking to make Gillette louder, I suggest hiring the Colts' sound crew.

Well, I think it would have to be something each STH and person on the waiting list would have to decide. The problem with that is the organization would have to take the STH word for it although, I would imagine if they weren't fulfilling the "rules" of the supporters section the other fans would heckle them and hopefully that would make them switch to one of the "regular" sections or lose their ST, whatever the rule may be.

The STH picked the seats, if he/she doesn't like the view as much, it was his/her decision to sacrifice view for armosphere....they have to suck it up or go to the "regular" sections.

They would have to get the STH's who are in the endzone and don't want to want to be in the supporters section to agree to moving their ST (or they could just force them to move but I doubt they'd do that). This, IMO, is one of the advantages of having the supporters section in the endzone because the people who don't want to be in the supporters section would be placed in sideline seats, which are generally considered to be better.
