Default Definitive Word on Brady's Foot (GOOD NEWS) [merged]

I know there's a mega thread but actual news kind of deserves a little more attention :

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/reg...ome&position=0

"Patriots quarterback Tom Brady [stats] is suffering from a high ankle sprain, according to a source familiar with the injury.

It’s a mild sprain, a second source indicated, and is not expected to pose a problem for the NFL’s MVP moving forward toward the Super Bowl in Arizona in 12 days."

even mild, aren't high ankle sprains supposed to be worse than ordinary sprains? Also, this most likely is not true.

This sounds like a load of BS, the big steamy kind.

So it was a good thing for the offense that Jabar Gaffney came up with a key catch, luckily, for six and, you know, we shut them up, and that was a good thing. I'm not a trash talker. Karen Guregian has been good recently and this fits with what Brady's dad said. Sometimes it really is what they say it is. Yes, mild high ankle sprains are worse than low ankle sprains but this is a limited mobility position, he's not out there trying to cut at full speed.

Compare what Owens and Crosby need their ankles for vs. Brady.

But what this means is that he won't have healed by the SB. He's not exactly a scrambler, but it would be nice for him to be able to run for a first if he needs to. I'm fairly certain this is not good news if it's true. (If it was a severe high ankle sprain would they say "severe?") Also pushing off on that ankle is fairly important for passing (see 3 INT v. Chargers)

...yeah but Sid, who lives just down the road from me btw, and his style of play warrants the rest. He logs a lot of icetime. TB will prolly need the rest and it will do him some good. Depending on the severity of the sprain, we will know in time hoe effective he will be.

Hopefully it is of the mild variety. I am sure TB will be out there and play well next Sunday...
