Default Which of the Chargers receivers is a bigger threat to the Pats secondary

Chris Chambers or Vincent Jackson

Chambers has alot of play time against the Patriots while Jackson has been hot lately

So which of the Chargers WRs is more dangerous to the Pats secondary?

(I would include Gates as a receiver as well but he is likely not playing)

Gates is not even close to 100% so he can be covered by linebackers. I gotta go with Jackson. You guys have seen plenty of Chambers and Jackson has come a long way since October.

Vincent Jackson. In my mind he's better than Chambers, taller, more athletic. If it's him with Hobbs instead of Asante 1 on 1 I think he'll have a big day.

Jackson has had a really good 1 1/2 games, before that he's been going nothing more than 40 yards a game. These two aren't huge threats except Jackson has a good height advantage. They'll make their catches, though, as we're playing kind of soft right now.

Gates will probably play (he did last week), but I'd have to say it's Vincent Jackson. Chambers has never been a killer against the Patriots (even last year when Wes Welker was getting double covered and Joey Harrington was chucking the ball a ton). Jackson is a huge match up problem for the Pats because he is 6'5" and will probably be up against Hobbs. Jump ball scenarios like the Plaxico Burress catch in week 17 where Hobbs had good coverage but was just unable to make a play on the ball are a very real possibility. I don't think it'll be a killer, though.

I agree 100%, Hobbs has been beaten quite a bit this year, but we have to keep Asante on Chambers, he is the break out reciever.

BTW how long has Vincent Jackson played, I don't know much about him..

Jackson, due to his size, he can't really be covered by one guy effectively.

I like Chamber's speed and ability to play bigger than his size over Jackson, personally.

Regardless I think Gates is still their number one thread. He'll be playing with a plate in his shoe and numbed to hell, so other than the weirdness of a partially numbed foot I expect him to be fine for those 3 hours on Sunday.

He looked as mediocre as the numbers he produced last week (22 yards). There's little reason to think he'll be the real Gates.
