I have to say, reading this thread I'm struck by the casino industry's PR genius. It appears that they've convinced the public that it's perfectly acceptable for grown men to behave wildly irresponsibly at any hour of the day or night, 365 days a year, as long as they're in a casino. So gambling has gone from being a vice to something that absolves you of all other vices! Bravo, casino industry!

Agree completely.
The strip club industry should take note of this and attempt the same spin.
Somehow, upon reflection, that probably won't work for some strange reason.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
