Relax MWH...just stay away from this topic & you'll be fine. You just seem to have personal feelings involed in this issue and it comes across loud & clear. Your opinion on this matter is almost obsessive.
you're probably right, I am obsessive, b/c I think this issue makes Pats fans look bad. it makes us look like whiners when we should just take our medicine and move on
I'm going to state my feelings very clearly
FACT: The NFL clearly detailed, in a memo, something no team can do
FACT: The Pats were caught doing exactly this
FACT: the NFL found us guilty and punished us for cheating/breaking a rule
OPINION: I don't think any of the above is really a big deal, b/c various other NFL teams cheat in various ways, but it just so happens we got caught.
OPINION: It's only a big media story b/c the team is so good
OPINION: the Pats would be just as good without the whole taping scandal
now, is that such a bad stance to take? do you disagree with any of the facts and/or opinions?

I'm trying to beat some sense into posters like you
Funny how you turn and flee from other threads when you are faced with the facts, like that "Fundamental Diff. bet. Kraft and Irsay" thread last night.
You weren't such a warrior when faced with facts. You just dropped out and took up another crusade.

how about you respond to the issue at hand instead of trolling
and wrt to the other thread, my point was very simple: when given a sweet money deal, Kraft was all too happy to sign a deal to move the team. that is an inarguable fact.
if the NFL specifically says that something is illegal, and a team does it anyways, what does that make them?
is it the word "cheater" you have a problem with?
would you be happier if people called us "rulebreakers"?
Yes.
"Cheating" means subterfuge. There was no subterfuge. The factual point has been made time and time again. Estrella was wearing Patriot staff clothing. He was in full view on the sideline in front of 75,000 New Yorkers. the game was against former Pats D Coord Mangini who has many ex-Pats on staff.
It was a brazen, and wrong thing to do. They were penalized heavily. They broke a rule. One who steals answers to a test when no one is looking is a cheater. Someone who goes to the steps of the police department in broad daylight and smokes a joint is openly breaking the law.
Your use of the word "cheating" is irrational and incorrect. However, I'm sure your excuse will be "well, others are doing it...."

WRONG. He gave up 100's of millions from St Louis, and he gave up almost a billion from Hartford.
Show me ONE instance when he moved the team to a place that offered him more money? Show me ONE instance where massachusetss offered Bob Kraft more public money than those two cities. You're a fraud and a waste.
And do it in that other thread. This thread is on a different subject.

Give it 10 years and people will be more willing to give the Patriots their due. If there was the same deafening level of sports discussion going on during the 80s and early 90s as there is now (dozens of sports channels and thousands of sports websites) there would have been tons of people arguing against the greatness of the '85 bears and the subsequent 9er teams.
In 10 years it'll be a different story than it is right now, right now people are flat out sick of seeing our team consistently in the mix and getting a plethora of media outlet coverage so they funnel that into disparaging what this team has accomplished.

another definition is "to violate rules or regulations".
which is exactly what we did
and with that, I'm going to bed
You are a fraud and a waste.
You use ONE out of ELEVEN optional definitions in that dictionay entry to make your point?
What about the "deceive" entry? What about the "elude" entry? What about the "imposter" entry? These are all entries in that link you provide that you ignore.
Fraud.

He is a waste. Don't waste your time and talent with this troll who is simply stirring up the pot on this board. The more you respond, the more he feels he's got the upper hand. I went after him last month when he came in and instigated a dialog about the same old spygate stuff. His M.O. will never change. You have better things to do than to go after this loser.
There are better debates to come with many of us who at least value rational thought and the pursuit of facts as the basis for a real argument. Save yourself for the real challenges!!!
