Default Simple question, would you prefer an 18 game season or 16?

I will post my thoughts later, but I just want your honest opinion, not swayed by any bias in how the question is asked or an upfront argument one way or another.

I know there are other aspects to ultimately consider, such as what other changes might arise (expanded roster size, a baseball-like "disabled list", shortening of camp, etc.), but since that's an unknown, just focus upon what would be your intrinsic preference.

People act like the preseason is worthless, but a lot players use it as an opportunity to show the coaches what they can do, whether it helps them make that team or another.

Do you notice how sloppy the football can be for the first couple weeks....if it's an 18 game schedule the first two games would probably look like week 3 of the preseason....and by week 3 they would be in regular week 1 form.

Then all the injuries and blah, blah, blah.....bottom line is

Don't f*** with a good thing.

My wife says "16 is enough."

Definately. Paying to watch a glorified intersquad scrimage is pure BS. That is what the NFLPA has all but admitted preseason games are. If makeing two of these "preseason games" count is such a great danger to the health of the players what does that say about how much effort is put in to wining those games. If the preseason is treated as no more than an intersquad scrimmage then let the NFL have the admision cost be adjusted to reflect that.

Heres the bottom line on this.....

Any moron knows the answer to this....

IF YOU HAVE A GOOD TEAM AND A SUPER BOWL CONTENDER YOU DO NOT WANT 18 GAMES

IF YOUR TEAM SUCKS THEN THERE IS NO REAL REASON NOT TO LIKE 18 GAMES,MORE GAMES MEANS MORE HOPE YOU CAN SNEAK IN WITH 2 LATE WINS

I am not quite sure on how to take that statement as either serious or a sexual pun

Nearly 200 years ago the game of football started its evolution from the game of rugby. In 1906 the first legal foward pass was thrown. In 1930 helmets became required. In 1951 it became illegal for an interior lineman to receive a foward pass. In 1956 the first sholder pads were used. So the game is constantly evolving and should continue to evolve.
If people with your atitude were taken seriously we would still be playing rugby instead of NFL football. We have been f***ing with a good thing for over 200 years and over all I enjoy the progress I have seen and hope to continue seeing.
