This guy may become a common target in 2011 for Tom Brady. We haven't seen much of this guy at all but he has speed along with great hands and runs precise routes. Brady has had great success with the quick short route WRs and I think Taylor Price fits the mold in what Tom wants in a WR. Price also looked pretty fearless in week 17 vs the Dolphins.

These rumors of Welker being shopped sound absurd, but after seeing Randy Moss get shipped away I suppose anything is possible. Maybe Bill sees something in Price that we haven't seen that could lead him to "shop" Welker. And I haven't forgot about Edelman who could have his time to shine next season as Branch is also getting old.

I'm not saying that Welker is going anywhere, and I hope he isn't going anywhere, but I think we have some players that could have quite an impact in the game if they weren't collecting dust on the bench. I still want the Pats to take a good look at WR in the draft and free agency but I think Price may have a role next season.

BB obviously sees something in this kid to not risk throwing him on the practice squad. There was a lot of talk when he came out of college last year and I really think he will add something to this team in the future.

I'm curious why he wasn't used more this season. Must not be a place for him on special teams.

There are plenty of reasons he wasn't active:
1. Wasn't a top-2 WR
2. Third WR was KR
3. Fourth WR was PR
4. No need for more than 4 active WRs in a 2 TE offense

I think he has to get up to the #3 WR spot to get active next season. Otherwise, Edelman's PR and 4th receiver duties are of more value than Price's 4th receiver duties.

He was late to OTA's because of the University of Ohio's semester schedule...I'm sure that has something to do with his development as silly as it sounds.

I think this was pretty much a redshirt year for him, considering the primitive offense that he played in in college, plus being late to OTAs/camp. The fact that he didn't get the old phantom IR speaks well for him, I think, and shows that Belichick thought being hands-on and coaching him up with the rest of the team was worth a roster spot. Considering how much emphasis he places on getting production out of every spot, that actually means something on this team.

That's not silly at all.
He was behind everyone in learning the playbook, not to mention the WR's he was competing with weren't in their rookie year. He came from an Ohio system that's nothing like the Pats, making it even tougher on him.

By the time he learned the playbook, if he ever did, he had to play catch up and some how pass the other WR's or a ST in practice.

I think he is a "project". They are probably going to try and develop him into a good receiver.
