Default Are the Jets trying to intimidate the Pats?

I think the Jets and Ravens are teams that truly try to bully other teams, and I'm beginning to believe that all the smack talk coming from the Jets is an attempt to intimidate at least the younger Pats players. I would not be surprised if the Jets are willing to rack up some penalties in order to try to make our receivers a little more nervous. At the very least, it's pretty clear that the Jets are doing all that they can to get themselves angry. It worries me a little what will happen in pile ups or if they get to Brady. But, will that anger help their run game? Help them defend against Brady? Maybe the Pats will be able to needle them just enough to push them over the edge so that they screw up.

Do you think the Jets talk is strategic or simply a sort of cathartic exercise? Do you they will back up their talk by being complete jerks during the game? Do you think BB game planned against the Jets' anger?

I think that Rex is just a big-mouth and his players follow his lead.

I think its the EXACT opposite, an inferiority complex.
They are talking to try to convince themselves that the owning of 45-3 was a fluke, OR that even if it wasn't the Patriots are bad guys.
When Rex has to make it a point to say they don't fear us, it is because they fear us. The bluster is like the guy who says 'hold me back' then goes on to say how bad he would kick your ass if he wasnt being held back.

Nothing is going to happen. All remaining teams have been warned by the NFL to tone down their trash talk and I am sure the referees are going to be on their toes.. oops! I didn't mean to say that.

Andy - Troy Brown agrees with you - that's what he said earlier this week on WEEI.

It's a combination of stupidity, poor leadership, and, yes, attempted intimidation.

I think they backed themselves in the corner with all that "Hard Knocks" ala "Jersey Shore" posing.

How can a blowhard team STOP talking trash without looking like they've been humbled?
They can't.

So they just keep blowing.

Nope. You squack when you're nervous and you have nothing else.

BB's gameplan has nothing to do with the Jets' anger. He'll gameplan focusing on how the Patriots' strength can attack Jets' scheme weaknesses. He's been successful using that tack so far...why would he change and suddenly start coaching based on emotion?

Actually, its just a lack of maturity and discipline isn't it?
Would anyone with maturity or discipline really think they can inimidate a team by calling the *********s, or crying that they celebrated during the beatdown?

REX is using every stupid trick he can think of his FEET (pun intended) to distract us and instill little confidence in his pathetic team full of classless and loser bunch. They started the tape controversy of PATS lining up today hoping for a repeat of what happened during SB game of 2007.

Hopefully the idiot did not focus on the game plan. Not that it matters.
