I think Josh knew Maroney's strengths and weaknesses, but he valued him higher than other RBs that he knew very little about. afraid of uncertainty
or maybe Josh is a bad judge of talent
or maybe Josh was one of Maroney's strongest supporters and BB used that to get a better trade value for him
who knows? but I doubt BB withholds his opinions on player evaluation from his other coaches.
