Default Pats Set Record Fewest Turnovers In a Season

Congrats To Pats for setting a record for fewest turnovers in a season With 10. Tom Brady for his TD to INT ratio. This is even sweeter because of our young "D" and Woodhead In & Faulk & Moss out. Like I said beginning of this season when I saw from Game 1 how Pats played Vs Cincy, I'm not surprised how Pats played. As long as we have TB/BB ANYTHING Is possible.

This is absolutely one of the more important and impressive records for the Pats this season.

Next to Brady's breaking the record of no int's, this has to be the biggest surprise.. Cudos to BB and the coaching staff..

Great stuff. Fewer turnovers on the TEAM than most starting quarterbacks!

No mention of Brady tying Steve DeBerg's record low 4 Int through 16 games of the regular season?

And the epitome of a true....meaningless....record as it relates to their goal for this season...

nice that they didn't turn it over much this year.....but in 2 weeks....who cares?

I care quite a bit, as does BB. Turnovers are one of, if not the most significant factor in wins.

Since 2001, the Patriots are 91-3 when winning the turnover battle, including 9-0 this season.

Here's what our head coach had to say about turnovers:

Quote:
“I hope it’s in the front of their minds. I hope it’s not in the back of their minds; I hope it’s right up front,’’ he said. “There is nothing more important than taking care of the ball, no matter who has it — whether you snap it, hold it, kick it, pass it, catch it, run with it. It doesn’t make any difference. If you handle the ball it’s a critical job for your team and we emphasize that every week. That’s our No. 1 thing offensively and in the kicking game, and that is to take care of the football when you possess it, so nothing comes before that. That’s a weekly goal.’’
According to BB, there is nothing more important than taking care of the ball. And we did that with record efficiency this year. That means a lot.

I remember seeing an NFL Films piece where Sabol was interviewing all the head coaches of the time. The most emphatic point was made during those interviews. Controlling the takeaway battle was the single most important factor when discussing the outcome of a game.
