Default Looking back after 14 games..

something worth repeating again i think..especially after all the bemoaning after last nite's win vs the packers

Pats - beat SD,Balt, pitt, indy, jets, chicago,GB,miami on the road

i know this has been said before but given this schedule with the tough stretch for long periods with no back to back home or 'so called inferior opponents' ,for a team which won 1 road game last yr, did anyone think we would be 12- 2 ?

Yes the pats have had breaks with bad qbs and bad plays by the opponents but they have held their own despite the limitations not to mention all the drama surrounding mankins/moss.

of course this means nothing if we dont win 1 of the next 2 but this team has played more than we bargained for through a tough stretch with significant injuries(something which gets overlooked a lot) and # of rookies. NBC put that stat out last nite - wilfork, mcourty and mayo are the only 3 players to have started all 14 games. Amazing we are still 12-2 to be honest.

Games like last night happen.Sometimes teams matchup well with others regardless of records contrary to what mediots propogate (e.g costas saying packers should forfeit) .

So lets take the win as a win .This season has been more exciting than we couldve hoped for after week 2.
Oh, btw...lots of people were rooting for the jets to win yesterday. If the pats didnt win last nite , i wonder if they think the same way still .

More impressive we beat Green Bay, CHicago, New York, Baltimore, Pitt and San Diego which are at the top of the heap defensively..

and we are now at +20 in the turnover ratio..

Agreed.

A lot of fans (myself included) sometimes forget that this years Patriots started a bunch of rookies at the beginning of the year, pretty much changed the entire offensive approach after a couple games, and really weren't considered the "heavyweight" of yesteryears.

With the team at 12-2 and in shape to be a real contender in this year's playoffs, it was awesome to see the team surrealistically "grow" to be the 12-2 team that they are now.

Hopefully we can put the icing on the cake come playoffs.

No matter what happens, this is Belichick's best coaching year ever. To take a rebuilding team, with that schedule, and to be 12-2 at this point, wow. I predicted 10 wins when I saw that schedule, never thought 12, with a possibility of 13 or 14 wins. Also, as someone else mentioned, the Pats beat the top 7 defenses (points against wise) in the NFL. Scoring a lot of points on some of them. Injuries, rookies, Moss dumped for Branch, etc, amazing job. Before the season even started, the Pats lost their best DE, their best CB, by the second game, they lost a great 3rd down back. Just amazing what they've done. The amount of starters and players on IR is staggering.

This year for Belichick even surpasses his 2008 season without Brady, which I thought was the greatest coaching job ever.

Honestly, if you told me that this year we would be 12-4, I would have been happy.

This year has been a lot like 2003. Sometimes painful to watch but in the end, worth it.

Do people not remember 2003? The game against the Giants? The Browns game. The Texans? Indy. Heck, even the second to last game that year against Miami was close.

Get used to these types of games. This is Patriots football.
