Default What if...Undefeated 16-0 vs Goddell

What happens when we close out the 2007-08 regular season undefeated. Will Goddell have the guts to face our team in NY (Giants in meadowlands, so right in his backyard) and congratulate us ?

If I am BB/Pioli/Kraft, I refuse to see the azzwipe after the game. Rather videotape a thankyou and mail it to his offices, and tell him to stick it where it hurts

Should make for an interesting drama come last week of the season. The worst part is to listen to those Doofus NFL Network announcers

hahaha Goddell the moron and his cronies will keel over since
1. Pats go 16-0 (good chance for SB win)
2. Pats lose #1 pick, but get a top 5 pick in 2008 draft
3. Moss signs an extension

You're whole argument is based on the premise that Goodell hates the Pats and that BB/Kraft/Brady/Pioli hate him as well. Has the Commissioner or the Pats openly said anything to that effect?

The Pats were caught breaking a league rule and then Goodell did his job (assign and enforce a penalty). I'm sure BB wasn't in the best of moods when he had to sign that check to the NFL but do you think BB has the gaul and bad manners to snub the Commissioner of his sport?

What the Pats and BB will do if Goodell decides to honor the Pats for a perfect season is to accept the Commissioner's congratulations graciously. The Pats have nothing to gain by being pr!cks.

Snubbing the Commissioner makes absolutely no sense and would be about th lousiest thing any team could do.

If the Patriots go 16-0, I'm reasonably sure they will take all the accolades they will receive with aplomb and graciousness.

If they go 19-0, they should be especially low-key and gracious. At that point their record would speak loudly and clearly. I suspect I would not live to see it equaled.

I suspect the Krafts have had plenty of dealings with the league and the comissioner's office since "spygate." I wouldn't even be surprised if there have been private discussions among many of the relevant participants that none of us has any idea about.

I don't fully agree that it is love and kisses between Roger Goodell and the

Pats. I think BB will hold resentment against the Commisioner until his

dying day. BB probably feels he did nothing wrong and was punished

much too severely. After the tapes were burned, the Commisioner

threatened the Pats with more penalties if any future incidents occurred.

If the Pats finish 19-0, Goodell will get a BB/Mangini hand shake.

If we win v. Miami, and then win in NY, I wouldn't expect anyone to congratulate us, or BB to want that. We would've won exactly nothing at that point.

Except of course to be the first team ever to win every game in a 16-game season, set a regular season win streak of 19 straight games, beating the old NFL record of 18 straight, win the division, earn a bye, earn home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and do it all with fewer injuries than any of our previous superbowl injuries.

Yeah, except for than, we ain't done nothing.
