Default Csonka - The Next '72 Fish Looking for the Lost Attention

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/f...,1826053.story

Don't expect Larry Csonka to be among the well-wishers.

Asked whether he felt that the Patriots hurt their legacy with the "Spygate" controversy, Csonka said: "You don't think it did them any good? I played for Shoes [Shula], and when he didn't like the way the rules were set up or things were going, he went to the NFL and got on the rules committee and changed them to his benefit. That's the way we worked. We played by the rules."

Sounds like an Indianapolis Colt, to me. Pretty stupid. He just said that his team changed the rules to their benefit.

Did everybody read that quote? Meathead just dropped a bombshell. They played within the rules because...

He's admitting the "competition committee" is a bunch of guys that change the rules to help their teams.

WTF?

Kind of scratching my head on that one. Did he really equate (and perhaps say it is worse to take part in) taping of games to having rules formally changed for their benefit?

The '72 Dolphins and the '07 Ravens must be related.

WTF?

Exactly! As I wrote in the last line of my opening post.

Everyone knows Shula was the Polian of his generation and (probably to Shula's embarrassment) Csonka just declared it.

Leave it to Csonka to get his nose out of joint over the Patriots.

Shula didn't break the rules? Are we talking about the same Don Shula who broke his contract with the Colts in order to go to Miami and cost his Dolphins a draft pick penalty for tampering?
