Seriously. Sans a few sane minds, I wouldn't want to go to war with any of you. Is this how you all act in your every day lives? At work? When someone misses a deadline at you job, do you call them the worst worker ever? DO you complain to all the other employees that the person that missed the deadline is holding the team back?

In your personal life, if your car gets a flat, do you go on a 10 minute tirade about how bad life is?

Good, I wouldn't want to go to war with a homer like you either. You're one of those types who believe that as long as the end result is ok, that the process shouldn't be questioned. People and businesses do not improve and have continued success by simply being content with their current success. Rather they look at things that they didn't do well and look at how they can improve. They are not "satisfied" like you are with winning a game against a bad team because they understand that there are larger goals to be accomplished.

I guess what I'm asking is, I really like the pats. Have been a fan since I grew up, but can I be a fan of the team, and hate the majority of the fan base that seems to want wins handed to them on a silver platter?

Look what happens with other teams. They all blindly follow their team. If I had to pick one, it would definitely be to choose that. They all get behind their team and support it for the most part.

And don't give me the "objectivity" routine. No one is paying you to analyze the game, and very few have probably even been involved in professional football. So your "objectivity" is worthless. It doesn't matter.

We currently root for the best franchise in the best sport in the US. So lets all drop the histrionics and support this GOD DAMN TEAM.
Of course it's possible. It's one reason that I find it easy to remain a Pats fan despite the immature homers who post most frequently on this board.

LMFAO @ your "go to war". You wouldn't last long in a war, with your "stick your head in the sand" attitude. Success in war depends on objectively analyzing all your actions, not simply cheering that you "won the battle" so there's no need to analyze/criticize any of your strategies. Ditto for business and personal life. People and businesses are successful, not because they rest on their laurels, but because they are willing to be objective, to be self-critical and to look for ways to improve. Fortunately, I believe Belichick is more like the few objective fans on this board rather than like the majority homers. He understands that there are larger goals to be accomplished which will not be achieved if this offense doesn't improve.

Being objective is simply another way of saying that one is HONEST AND REALISTIC. It's fine that you believe that being a fan means one has to be dishonest and hide from reality but not all of us are crazy bats who are so obsessed with the Pats that we name our kids after the players. Deal with it or move on. Either option works for me.

I can certainly agree with people who are damning of posters who seem to think that it's not a win unless the number the pats put up on the scoreboard is higher than they can count.

But this remains a message board, as fans we can both be happy the patriots are 14-0 and talk about what could have been better, constructively.

Precisely. I don't know if these people are wannabe Nazis or seriously lacking power in their personal lives because it's extremely weird how angry some of them get when confronted by opinions that differ from their own. Very weird.

Brady and the Offense did what was needed. Run the ball, kill the clock, and let the D do its thing.

It wasn't flashy, but it worked.

I still think Maroney is playing like he's made of glass, for all intensive purposes.

"For all intensive purposes" needs to be the official Patsfans slogan.

I am pumped about the win. This was a classic NE Pats late season win. Very Very Bad Weather. Big, Timely Plays from Brady. Bigtime defense with turnovers. Only the most bandwagony fans would complain.

If you go back to the game threads and check, I think it's more like that are 5 or 6 (give or take a few) extraordinarily negative fans that just post way more than anyone else. As always, the vocal minority may leave the biggest impression, but isn't really representative of any more than a small share of the population.
