Default We Need To Stop All The Negativity

this team and its fans are just way to negative right now. im really surprised and disappointed how this spygate thing has gotten the better of our psyches. the team is 13 & 0, on track for a perfect season and a 4th super bowl. brady is a lock for MVP. this is a time we should be nothing but positive. instead the board, team and local media are filled w/ anger and have turned a negative focus looking for bad things on mangini, jets, espn analysts, the nfl, etc etc etc. forget all that crap and rejoice in this glorious season.

randy moss said it best:""I'm in a dream. It's too good to be true. I'm with the Patriots."

we should all feel the same

You make perfect sense, tomcat.
Very sensible ... balanced ... adult.

I do love how the season on the field is unveiling.
But i am still fiercely pi$$ed at all the crud maliciously thrown our way.

Guess i'm just not a stable enough individual to control or reverse that.

Perish Mangini!
Perish Jets Commissioner Godell !
Perish a dozen or more of those anointed pundits!
Perish them all.

The negativity is coming from a select few ... I do not agree.

Funny - if you ask me Spygate's been a great way to bring this team together and help them stay focused on the goal of a perfect season.

Thanks to Spygate we're 13-0.

I really question whether we'd have that good a record without Spygate.

So why would anyone want to abandon the "blueprint" that has gotten us this far now"?

I think it's human nature. There's both a need to gloat about your team and to complain, no matter how good or bad the situation is. If you consider the Dolphins to be in the exact opposite situation as us, then take a look at any Dolphins board and I'm sure you're going to see no less positivity than if they were a purely average team.

from my small sampling of other boards, i think ours is the most negative. not what you'd expect for a 13 & 0 team

I think 13 - 0 was doable with or without the Jets tattletale. Moss and Welker put this team over the top.

Anybody else think there'd be a cheerier vibe if the Pats were 11-2 and trying to stay ahead of the Colts for HFA? The pursuit of perfection has an inevitable element of fear to it ("they're sooo close, I can't bear for anything to go wrong now"). Meanwhile the real game-by-game urgency is pretty much on hold until the playoffs, since they've wrapped up almost everything. The combination makes for a jittery fan base that tends to overfocus on minutiae. (Not that I'd trade in the 13-0 record, mind you! )

I bet the malaise lifts with the first playoff game.

I don't doubt it - if and when we have a perfect season I'll smarmilly remind everyone that I predicted it in the pre-season (well, actually I said that BB was building this team to make a push at the perfect season, as it was so over the top better than most teams)

But once the season is over I think you'll have plenty of guys on this team come forward and admit that Spygate spurred them to seek to dominate every team every week - and that it took every ounce of drive for them to find ways to win against the Eagles and Ravens.

So given those two games alone, if Spygate gave just a 1% boost to the team, it made a big difference in both of those games.

So I've got no doubt they COULD be 13-0 without Spygate - I just doubt they would be.
