If it's not Pats vs. Colts in the AFCCG, I will feel cheated
I know the thought of rooting for Manning and the Colts is probably a disturbing one to many Pats fans...but I realize now that I want to see them win their divisional game when it comes time for it.
Honestly, after having surveyed the talent of the NFL for the past 13 weeks, after destroying two out of the top 5 teams in the league (Cowboys and Steelers), wouldn't you feel cheated or disappointed if the Patriots and Colts didn't meet in the playoffs and some lesser opponent managed to knock either of them off?
I'd feel robbed of a classic match-up and a classic game, as well as feeling robbed of what is right and approrpiate - that the two best teams in the game play each other.
While I think the Pats are still on another level, the Colts are the closest to actually being on that level, and from there, the drop off is considerable. My respect for the rest of the league and the other so called "top teams", Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, declines on a weekly basis.
I wish we could just fast forward to the AFCCG game and watch Brady and Manning go at it again. Everything in between now and then will be a bit perfunctory, and any outcome other than the said showdown will be annoying.

I'll take the Buffalo Bills. In fact, my ideal scenario would be the Bills winning 2 overtime games -- the second on Sunday night (while we get the Saturday game) and lasting 3 overtimes. I'd root for having the game played in flu-inducing cold, but since it will almost certainly be in Indy, that seems too much.
Then, since we're dreaming, how about the Redskins in the SB?
Put another way, I want to see the team win the championship. Easy is fine with me. I discovered this year watching the Sox beat up the Rockies that the championship is what matters. Would it have been better playing the Yankees along the way? Ehh. Who cares. The trophy is the thing.

It's true to some extent, but they don't win championships in a vacuum. They play the game to entertain, and to me, the most dramatic and entertaining matchup is Colts-Pats. And wouldn't you like to be able to say that we went through the Colts to get to the Super Bowl? I would.
If it doesn't happen, I'm not going to jump off a bridge, but I do think it would be a letdown if we don't get this matchup again come playoff time.

Hell no I don't want to see the Colts again. You crazy? In descending order of which team I'd most like to see in the AFC Game (Can't be the Browns because if they win first we see them in the divisional game).
1. Chargers (Without decent quarterback play you will not beat the Patriots. Period.)
2. Pittsburgh (Anyone seriously think after Sunday they have enough defense to stop the Patriots?)
3. Jacksonville (Tough, tough defense and a very competent quarterback. Great running backs, could shock someone in the playoffs. I don't want to see them.)
4. Colts ('Nuff said. Good secondary, great quarterback, familiar with our personnel and has a grudge.)

That's just fear of losing though - I don't think we'll lose against the Colts, but I do think it will be a more interesting matchup.

There are major differences between those two situations. The Patriots in that game had bad turnovers early and were forced to get away from the way they generally play. Sunday's game was a straightforward personnel matchup, where clearly the Pittsburgh defensive scheme does not match up well with our spread offense.
I mean, we're talking a limited field here. I'd rather see the Miami Dolphins twice (and again in Arizona) but unfortunately in the playoffs you have to beat good teams. Of the four good teams we could potentially play in the AFC game (and it will be one of those four teams), I'd way rather play Pittsburgh than Jacksonville or Indy.

If they're the two best teams you've got nothing to worry about. If the Colts get knocked off at home after a bye week they don't deserve to be in the championship game. Period.
