Yet at the same time we've seen the defense make big stops so we know they can do it... they just need more time.

I was at the game on Thursday.
We had good pressure on Hill. If we had contained him in the pocket, in the first half, there was no problem.
Look at the second half. Lions have five meaningful drives that produced:
7 points/ 2 picks/ 135 total offense. They did a better job containing the pocket.
The Pittsurgh game got sloppy as well as Indy. However, if the defense doesn't step up early, you can't get big leads either.
The fact is this defense from a "situational football" perspective is much, much better than a stat/fantasy perpective.
Need work? Yes but what defense doesn't or do you prefer "shutdown" defense like Baltimore or Pittsburgh? Stat rackers that can't get it done against elite offenses?
