Default Seymour Is Playing Injured?

Well, according to Pro Football Weekly that is the case.

http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW...It/default.htm

"Our sources in New England tell us that DRE Richard Seymour isn’t yet fully healed from a knee injury that forced him to miss the first seven weeks of the season. Heading into Week 14, the perennial Pro Bowl player had just 11 tackles and has been held without a sack. Those close to the situation say he’s not moving around as well as he used to, and consequently his numbers and his impact on the game are minimized."

I know it's only "sources", but it sure helps explain Seymour's apparent loss of effectiveness. Maybe signing the big payday isn't the reason after all.

I wouldn't doubt it. He is slowly coming back. He made some good plays and some bad plays last week

Major reconstructive knee surgery -- like an ACL -- takes a full year for the player to regain his form. Even though the player can return to action after nine months or so, it's almost always the second season back when things are really back to normal.

It would be unusual if Seymour weren't limited somewhat by the rehab his year. Look for him to be back up to full speed next season.

Some of that is continued healing. Some of it is learning how to trust the new knee. Some of it is just the effect of missing a full offseason conditioning program and training camp.

Think that fat contact is what has slowed Richard down. Not questioning that his knee is weak, am saying his knee was fine last year and he was a non-factor most of the season. Richard hasn't been the same player since putting pen to paper on his new deal.

Its hard to argue that point. I wonder if he'll get voted to the Pro Bowl this year?

All that time off, and it didn't heal? That stinks. Looks like he'll have the luxury of the same excuse two years in a row.

If his knee is still dicey and he can't play well because of it, then why is he out there? You'd think he would be risking re-injury.

It is amazing in this league how you can go from hero to goat almost overnight.........Big Sey has been a tremendous ALL star on this team......one of the best of all time for us I believe,.....and I can only imagine that he is playing hurt due to the fact that his play has dropped off so much.......Hopefully he will be back full strength next season........When healthy this guy is a tremendous force......
