it's hard to compare a player in his 12th season to another player in his 12th game. I agree Merriweather can't tackle his way out of a wet paper bag, but he needs at least a few years under his belt before he can be traded to another team for another 1st round bust. I really hope he can make a mark in ST at minimum until he can make a role change to safety.

for everyone saying that hes not a bust...if you read my post it didnt say that whatsoever...all i said is he wiffed bad on that play....yeah samuel should have had him but still...

Hes not a first round bust but he came out of Miami with a reputation for being a sound tackler...

I agree with the sanders comment although he wasnt our first overall choice

And he cant ice the game with an INT either.

If we'd somehow lost the game after that terrible drop for an easy int I would have been raging at the kid

I'll say it now. Meriweather only showed up negatively tonight aside from one special teams play. Let me say this in my best Tom JAckson voice, "Let me make this clear, Brandon Meriweather has been garbage thus far."

It's too early for this. Meriweather got on the field tonight, which is positive, but he didn't make the plays that we would have liked him to. He and the coaching staff will be able to evaluate this film and make corrections.

Everybody misses tackles. Players drop INTs. It just happens that a 1st round draft pick that we are eager to label as a bust did so in a big game. He'll improve, and you'll love him soon enough...

Sorry to say this, and I've been defending the guy all along, but if he's a 4th or 5th rounder, then after tonight he's off the team and on the practice squad. At this point, he looks awful, though I suppose he's doing okay on special teams.

The FO should have drafted the Poz or David Harris instead of the Miami Stomper. Obviously.
