Default Blowouts and Punts

It seems any time PATs D forces the opponent to punt 5 or
more times in a game the score will be a blow out.

Colts and Eagles had only 3 punts and those games were close.

... i have a future.

I know it is obvious when you think about it. But so much has been
talked about PATs Greatest Offense of ALL time. What is usually never
said much about is that it is PATs defense that makes all these blowouts
possible.

The Pats blew out the Redskins, and I don't think they punted five times.

Offense and defense are just so much more complimentary than the experts seem ever to acknowledge when breaking down stats. When the defense can get off the field quickly, it's a huge boost to the offense and often will mean a very weary defense on the other side late in the game. When the offense is controlling the ball it's also a big boost to the defense, which not only gets to rest but also has to contend with fewer offensive possessions by the opponent. It's all very much related, and opponents' punts, while a great proxy for how the defense is playing, also really does say something indirectly about how the offense is playing.
