Default Is Favre Really All That?

sorry mr. madden, but rodgers performance spelling an injured favre kind of confirms what i thought about favre for some time. that hes been very over hyped as best qb ever. he may not even be one of the best QBs in the league. his backup looked to have just as much arm strength, but he ran a smarter, more effective offense. what's amazing about favre has been his longevity and not missing games due to injury. i think that and his coach's willingness to put up w/ his free wheeling style, has as much to do w/ his passing records, as anything. consider he also holds record for INTs.

I dont think he is all that, but by looking at the game last nite they showed everything that Farve did except have a bowel movement.. I like Farve and he has been a great Qb over the yrs, but all this Farve love is overated..

Farve has been having a very good year; he was much more accurate and not slinging it all over the field. Last night he reverted to his form of the last few years and just flung it downfield, with predictable results. Rodgers looked better because he did what Farve had been doing all year (but forgot to do last night0, which was take the shorter routes and let the receivers try to get some YAC.

i also thought he showed good arm strength. certainly rodgers has elevated his profile around the league as a capable starter. i wouldnt be surprised is a) packers don't try to beg favre to not retire at the end of this year, unlike years past or b) if favre returns then another team makes an offer for rodgers they can't refuse

In Favre's defense, he is 0-9 lifetime at Dallas. If we were to judge Brady soley on his performances at Denver or at Miami he'd look mediocre as well.

He's the most overrated player in the history of the National Football League.

I think he trying to be a hero last night with some deep passes for the highlights....but too bad it turned out INTs.

I wondered what the heck the Packers doing with deep passes while they have great success with short pass to move the chains...every time they take a deep pass..the ball either INT or to the side line....i mean, stick with what you're good at.

I don't know about Favre, but I'm starting to believe that Romo is all that.

I thought this played into Favre's game last night. He looked like he panicked and kept trying for the long ball (which was absolutely NOT there) because he believed the hype (he is the great Lord Favre; he's having the best year of his career; he will finally win in Dallas). Blah, blah, blah. McCarthy looked like he wanted to kill someone.

By the way, the Packers got totally screwed right off the bat when Al Harris took that ball away from TO in bounds and the refs gave it back to Dallas.

He's been killing his team against good teams for the past 7 years. Their schedule is a joke the rest of the way so he'll go back to playing well and quite possibly win the MVP because he is friendly with the press.

Then in January he'll play exactly like he played last night except for 4 quarters. In response, the press will talk about how he had a lot of fun and call for GB to fire it's special teams coach or Def Coordinater.
