Honestly, some of you really just don't get the game other than playing it as a paper exercise or on video game screens.
Oh right, I don't get the game, great counter argument.

I'm sure the Patriots threw out all the film on Fitzpatrick for the Bills game just because he's in a new system now. Yeah, that makes a ton of sense.

I watch Fitzpatrick and I see a guy who is making a lot of accurate throws, whatever the system is. I don't think his development has been "sudden," I think the team has gotten better as a result of the HC and development of guys like Steve Johnson, and it's allowed Fitz to play better football.

The new system isn't anything people haven't seen before... give me a break. Gailey's been in the league for years and so has his system.

I wouldn't go as far to say he's playing on par with Brady, but Fitzpatrick cannot catch one break from his defense. We've put up 26PPG with Fitz under center, which will usually win you a game 99 times out of 100. However, his defense has been outright atrocious. Our defense has given up 30+ PPG going back to the Green Bay game. That's 6 games in a row!

If our defense was even average, we very well may have walked out of Baltimore with a win. We'd probably win the Jacksonville game with a better defense, and dare I say it, the New England game would've been very winnable with ANY defense better than the product that we have been fielding.

Notice how once Fitz goes under center and not Edwards, Evans and Johnson start making plays. Which makes me appreciate the fact Trent Edwards will never take a snap for Buffalo again.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - he makes losing fun!

I can't believe a thread of comparing Fitzpatrick to Brady has gotten 9 pages worth of posts. Fitzpatrick is exceeding expectations, but let's get a little real here.

Just want to clarify that I don't believe Fitzpatrick is anywhere near Brady's level. I think he's just a better player than people give him credit for. He gives the Bills what they need atm: a guy who is fearless and can make some pretty decent throws.

No. But I do wonder if a trade would be possible for Ryan Fitzpatrick including a couple of picks and Mankins. What a backup to groom for the future! The guy is smart, makes good reads and is level headed under pressure.

As a long-time Pats fan, I know exactly what you mean. It'll turn around eventually.

That’s what we always do, and I think the last nine years we’ve put a pretty competitive team out there on the field every year. I think that’s how you do it – you get good football players. Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”
