Default The 2007 Patriots - Not as much fun to watch anymore?

An interesting blog and makes you almost forget about those grind em out wins from years past.

For some reason I myself sometimes miss some of those nail biters from previous years of great but not dominating teams like this years team is and what the linked blog talks about....

Is it more fun to watch these blowouts IYO? or are those nail biters missed a bit sometimes,I have to admit I loved some of those 20-17 last second wins and the under the radar wins we accomplished with no big deal made by the media.

The Colts game was three grueling, stressful hours. I felt relieved afterward, more than happy. I enjoy the 56-10 variety much more.

Cool Re: The 2007 Patriots - Not as much fun to watch anymore?

I don't know why, but I'd much rather watch a completely dominating performance, like the one at Buffalo, rather than a nail-biter, like the recent Indy win. Maybe I'm just getting too old, but the headache I have after a close win gets in the way of the joy I feel (until the next day when I re-watch the highlights 25 times and hope they show the game on NFL replay!).

Oddly enough, I seem to be enjoying myself.

I find this years team much more fun to watch and I'll take 45 point arse kickings anyday of the week over nail biting last minute 3 point wins. We are watching something that the NFL has never seen(to this extent) and might never see again in our lifetime. This is 27 Yankees and 85 Bears type dominance. This stuff doesn't happen that often. I don't know, but I found myself in awe after the 1st halfs against Miami and Buffalo. Pure dominance. The scary part is I still don't think we've see the best yet from these guys. This is much more fun to watch.

You know when you really come to think of it,this conversation can really make you look at the greatness of Brady 2 ways...

In the past Brady was great by pulling the joy of victory out of the apparent agony of defeat - or...

You can say Brady is great because with all the weapons he has his talent shines more than ever - or

You can actually combine both too I guess....

Spoiled jerk,shame on him!
Nothing else to whine about I guess.
The first two Super Bowl wins are more than enough nail biting action for my lifetime.
Let the Juggernaut that is the 2007 Patriots roll on!

Give me the blowouts. I've always enjoyed watching dominating performances in sports, put yourself in that position. Wouldn't you want to destroy every opponent you faced? I love watching Tiger lap the field and take home the hardware, or Federer mop the court with anyone who is on the other side of the net. For many painfull years, we watched the Patriots get eaten up and spit out by other teams, it's their time now and I can't get enough of it!

I agree. It's great fun to kick back, relax, and watch this team dismantle opponents. It's such a rare luxury, I think it SHOULD be enjoyed over games where the outcome is in doubt and you're stressing/fretting over what might happen.

Now, I want this team to run the table and say I was there to see it happen.

Did any of you catch yourself doing things in the 4th quarter of a 2007 Patriots game that you usually didn't do in the past like take focus off of the TV for a bit to do something else in the house and check on the game periodically when in years past if you even blinked, the team leading in a Patriots game changed around in favor of the other team.

I know personally that 4th quarters of Patriots games this year were far from competitive and I found myself not as glued to the TV as I usually am when watching a Patriots game this decade,It feels kind of strange - its a good thing, but strange
