This is a great example of why we need websites like coldhardfootballfacts.com. I understand why the Patriots and their coaches are heaping praise and "respect" onto Buffalo this past week. Coach Bill reminds us how the Bills could be 7-2 but for some late game antics. But the real story is simple, and leads to the obvious conclusion that the Patriots will crush the Bills Sunday, whether they play in Buffalo or on the Moon. The big "winning streak" that Buffalo has been on is composed of victories against the following NFL heavyweights: the Baltimore Ravens, New Jersey Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, and Miami Dolphins, teams with a combined record of 8 wins and 28 losses (28.5 winning percentage). There is no analysis that needs to be given here, no pretend resurrection of the Bills. They have a good head coach, and some players, but they will be absolutely destroyed by the Patriots, and we don't need to build this game up any more than these basic numbers attest. If the Patriots' bus makes it to Buffalo, then they will crush the Bills.

Buffalo's defense has played well at times. They also have played lousy at times. But, given their slew of injuries on defense, their play on that side of the ball is commendable. But they are vulnerable. Fortunately for them they have not played many offenses who could take advantage of their weaknesses. Unfortunately for them, the Pats are not such an offense.

Further, their is another side to this Bills team ..... offense. It is here where we see just how futile the Bills have been. The Bills offense has scored just 10 TD's all season long. Their QB's have thrown for just 3 passing TD's all season long. What's more 7 of their 10 total TD's have come courtesy of M Lynch, the guy who figures not to be playing against the Pats Sunday night. Barring some unusual turnaround Sunday night I don't see how the Bills can muster up much offense against a Pats defense which is much better than what they have faced thus far.

About the only area I can see the Bills excelling is special teams. They are one of the best teams in the league in this area. In fact, their play in this area is a very large reason why they have won as they have.

If the Bills are to have any chance of keeping this game close they are going to have to make "big" plays in this game. On special teams as well as by creating several key turnovers. If they are able to score TD's off those 'big" plays they have a shot at keeping this game close. Otherwise, it's a blowout for the Pats.

The Defense is very young athletic and hungry.
If Schobel is playing this automatically somewhat a concern to me, taking in effect he usually get's the better of Light and get's a decent shot on Brady.

As far as their offense is concerned, Evans and Parrish worry me a bit especially Parrish.
Not only is he a excellent returner, gunner, he can make players miss tackles.
We saw quite a bit of mixed tackles in the indy game.
Now you have to believe that tackling was a huge point of emphasis this week
and we shouldn't expect any sloppy play on defense.
Although given the chance this guy can make you pay.
Buffalo beefed up the offensive line which everyone knows.
Last go around we got the better of them but I think they are a unheralded unit opening up good holes in the run game and decent protection for their QB.
If Lynch is not playing it's definitely a relief, Anthony thomas can be more than a jag though I think he's close to Morris as how his career has went.
He is slightly stronger than Morris but not as elusive in the open field he is a definite hammer the middle take the first lane kind of back.
Their special teams are excellent solid in every aspect from both kicking units to the return men.
So no bye week mental lag collapses and our equally solid special teams should leave that as a non factor in this game.
My only concern is they rise to the occasion at home on national tv,
the crowd factor is nothing.
If Tom and co can manage thru the noise at the RCA dome, then RALPH WILSON stadium should be like light elevator music playing in the back of the players head although elevator music can get extremely annoying.

That trophy represents the team – I mean that word collectively, that is able to play the best season for the year that it's engraved. It doesn't mean anything about what happened the year before. It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

And, unfortunately for Buffalo, while their ST are very good ours are just barely below them. Using Football Outsiders for a one stat overall look, Buffalo is 4th in the league in ST at 6.7% above league average; we're 5th at 6.3% above league average.
