SAN DIEGO -- Adam Vinatieri missed a clutch kick.




Sure, and the Pope will be hosting a toga party at the Vatican on Friday night.
Vinatieri might miss once in a while -- he's human, after all -- but he never, ever, ever misses when the game is on the line.
Who will ever forget that shot of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, standing on the sideline in Baltimore after Vinatieri's fifth field goal of the day put the Colts into the AFC Championship Game?
"Money,'' Dungy said.
And he is.
Or was.
Vinatieri missed a hurried field goal wide left near the end of the first half.
So when he lined up with a minute and a half remaining in the game, his Colts poised to engineer the biggest regular-season comeback in the team's history, you figured, "Hey, he's Vinatieri. He misses an easy one once, maybe, but twice? He can't miss twice."
He missed twice.
The shame of it was, the Colts deserved to win this football game. After all the obstacles they surmounted, after digging deep into the depth chart, they deserved to enjoy a long, happy flight back home from San Diego.

They'll pass the Electric Acid Kool Aid Test with flying colors. BTW EAKT is a very good book I'd forgotten about it until writing this post.

No ...more like 24 or 27 to 10 or 17..less picks but more sacks.. arty qwould have brought pressure EVERY single 3rd and long.. Marty's a great coach...he harrassed Brady that whole game and actually got the turnover he needed to win. That was his call and it worked..the Pats were done...except that Marty didn't teach the fundamental strength when the ultimate pressure is on...YOU still look to amke the play that counts...Troy Brown did. He robbed the ball from abigger younger far more physically taleneted player who made the play Marty was looking for. Why??? Because Troy Brown has NEVER choked or lost his head in a game NEVER...short, nondescript fring NFL lucky he even had a job...but THAT's WHY BB had him in there. even though he was no D player...and that why Troy is still carried on this roster and why he'll retire a Patriot. No way a Troy Brown should even be on that field..Tell Mike Martz that...tell Jimmy Johnson in the Orange bowl ...888 yard overtime TD on 3rd and 15 at the ten. Seymour is a tremendous talent. Ask every team that plays the Pats...Ty Warren is the smartest, never out of positin D lineman the Patriots have...a REAL Pro's pro...no one knows.. Ask the players...they just laugh because they love cracking on Ty, the one guy on that team who personifies the complete Patriots philosophy player. ******* Colvin took two years beforte he finally got it...now Colvin is dangerous in clutch situation because he plays off Warren's keys. A.T. will become the most heralded star Patriots D player without question..next season. He's still learning how to take advantage of the work that Seymour and Warren do. We'll be back next season and everyone knows it

Kravitz has become an embarrassing house boy for the Angels.
The only thing that kept the Angels in the game was the ineptness of the Chargers. That was some really bad football.

You do not deserve to win any game after throwing six interceptions and allowing two return TDs. The Colts scored a gimme "let's do nothing and hope Phillip Rivers will mess it up" TD to even pull within two points.

Dungy was outcoached by NORV TURNER. They did NOT deserve to win that game.
