Default FA CB Karl Paymah

Karl was working out for the Lions yesterday and clocked a 4.36 in the 40 but they decided not to sign him.

Anyone seen him play?,Last played for the 49ers - He is 28 years old and 6'0" 195 pounds

That workout was pure speed and we could use some speed back there.

I don't think speed is our problem at CB. We need experience.

That said, he's a four or five year vet and worth at least a look.

Butler was in several games last year and I would not say he is inexperienced,it looks more like he is not very good at this point.

I think taking a look at Paymah couldn't hurt,he would not cost a lot and could see him compete with Butler and Wilhite, not like those 2 would be hard to beat out.

I have not watched many 49ers games since Montana and Young left so I have no idea what type of athlete he is

I think if we were to get a CB it shouldn't be a guy that is not even proven. I can't really see us signing this guy and having him start over butler or Mccourty. If we are going to acquire a CB, I want one that is better than Butler or Wheatley.

It's so hard to think of anything that would match what I do: Fly to the moon? Jump out of planes? Bungee-jump off cliffs? None of that s--- matters to me. I don't see how you can say playing in 19 games total (including the playoff game last year) with only 2 getting starting snaps is experienced. Regardless of that argument, Butler is fast enough, so saying "we need speed back there" is oversimplifying the problem at best.

The pats will certainly evaluate all corners available. We need a player who can player if needed. At this point, we are not looking to replace Wilhite or even Wheatley. We are looking for a veteran who can be available for a few games to play in place of an injured player. Arrington now has that role. If one of the corners were nicked a bit, it would have been Arrington who got major reps. And, no I would cnsider Paymah as experienced. I would only consider him if Wheatley isn't coming back. Of course, if he is a top special teamer, we can always use him. There is plenty of flexibility at the bottom of the roster.
