Default Reeves Backs Pats

First, let me say that I would not post another Spygate post, except for something interesting that Dan Reeves pointed out, while speaking on Sirius NFL Radio.

He said that Spygate was way overblown (the intelligent know that already). But, he went on to say something that I had forgotten, or never knew. That, the Coach to QB electronics was mostly implemented because of the rampant stealing of signals along the sideline.

Reeves said that this was nothing new, and that even when he and his teams knew the play ahead of time (of course he didn't divulge how), that the other team would still often make a big play. He said "execution" was always the key, even if they knew the play ahead of time. Anyway, if the point regarding the reason for going to the communication system was brought up before, sorry. Key point though for all those "shocked that the Patriots cheated".

Anyway, I've always suspected that most opposing fans know all this, but choose to pile on for the sake of piling on the dominant franchise.

P.S. - Speaking of the Coach to QB communication system. Does anyone suspect that Indy shuts it off, turns up the heat, pipes in false crowd noise, and shouts out false snap counts only against the Patriots, or do you think this is an every game thing for them?

I think they probably do it for big games.

Are they in Indy or SD this weekend?

You're probably right. Oh, and the game is in SD.

No surprise!
Didn't Pedro once throw batting practice, where he told everyone ahead of time what pitches he was going to throw, but he was still able to blow it by the hitters?

Gotcha! Not sure how they do it. I do notice less Indy fans calling US cheaters since the game though.

True enough.

Now if we can only get Reeves to tell us HOW his team knew ahead of time what the other team was running, we'd have a story.

I am thinking back to a Dolphins vs Pats game in the 90s.
Does anyone remember it?
Marino made an audible,LB Todd Collins read it, turned around and motioned with his hands that it was going to be a pass in the flat, then I think he got the pick himself.
There were no allegations of cheating against the Pats or any of this * foolish crap. The blame(even from Marino)was all put on Shula for not changing his signals often enough.

You have a great memory for bringing that play up. I totally remember it.

Don't forget, back then we were not a powerhouse team, so there wasn't a need for everybody to try to bring us down, and to pile on.

I see your point though. Heck, I even had a Steeler fan this morning tell me that this is a story that is not really a story, but that it's other team's only hope of trying to hurt your team 'because they haven't been able to do it on the field'. A STEELER FAN said that to me. I give him credit. Maybe he's trying to get on my good side before we face them. Kidding.

All this crap is a story until Michael Vick goes before the judge, then Goodell will be praying that the Pats are undefeated and rolling along because that would probably steal the headlines away from Vick's whole mess!

BTW..When is Michael Vick due for sentencing? Anyone know?
