Washington is a top ST player.

If they activate them, Ventrone is a logical choice for at least one spot.

Adalius thomas. Clearly he is on the decline as he wasn't used much in the Colts game. (Yes, that was sarcasm)

So I believe if they were trying to activate Brown it would be Gaffney who goes. If they wanted Chad Jackson to be activated he plays more of a role that Kelley Washington may play as Chad Jackson has ST's experience if I recall correctly and can play gunner. I actually believe that Ventrone might be a place holder for Eddie Jackson.

Mel Mitchel, Eric Alexander and Eugene Wilson are all banged up. Mel And Eugene have managed to get back on the practice field, But Eric has not. This is something to watch, IMO. They may opt to IR one of these guys if it appears that they will not be able to get back on the field in the near future.
Alexander appears to be a prime candidate for that. Ventrone is going back to the squad, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that Marcelus Rivers might be cut again either.

NONE of the WR's will be cut, IMHO. Washington is one of our most productive Special Teams players and Gaffney has locked up that #4 WR spot, IMHO. BB is not going to cut Gaffney without knowing how productive Chad or Troy will be in the offense.

Ventrone..Wilson is on roster..we dont need Ventrone once hes back..not that we needed Ray now anyways

if Mitchell's injury is really bad..then Ventrone sticks, Mitchell goes on IR. Mitchell is 1 of our best ST players

The Patriots have guys like Ventrone who can be cut or put back on the Practice Squad who aren't likely to get picked up by other teams. They'll be the ones freed up on a week to week basis to make room for additional players as need develops.

They've become a bit of a revolving door with players getting signed and cut on a week to week basis depending on the gameday needs.

CJ can't really be cut but Troy Brown can be cut one week and signed the next, and cut again because most teams would probably realize he just wants to stay in the area and play for the Pats.

Unless someone wowed him with a big contract for the rest of the season (unlikely) Troy can be cut and signed week to week without fear of "losing" him.

Im not sure why people want Washington to go...he is doing exactly what he has been asked to do...excelling on special teams. I can definetly see someone going to the IR in the Wilson, Alexander, Mitchell group. Marcelles Rivers seems to on his way out for about the 9th time this season as long as Watson and Brady are healthy. Ventrone is a roster filler at this point so there would be no hestitation in cutting him if no one is going to the IR...

Sentimental reasons aside, Jabar Gaffney is a better receiver than Troy right now. I think CJ gets IR'd. If one receiver goes down, Washington steps in as the #4 as he's been here through camp and the entire season and has shown value on special teams during the year and receiving ability in the preseason. If two go down, we call Troy or Bam.

I have not seen Kelly do a whole lot on STs. I hate it when he runs up ona fair catch guy and touches him. He's going to get flagged one of these times

CHad Jackson was a fine gunner on ST last year, much better than Washington is now.

Plus I'r rather have Jackson as a WR than Washington.

And next year Jackson will be in and Washington will be history, so it is better to let Jackson get more exposure on the team now and be more ready next year.

That's why this "some people" highly prefer Jackson to Washington
