Default New Spin on Brady's Knees

Instead of being total enablers that the mediots are being by basically encouraging someone to go for Brady's knees saying, "it's inevitable, sooner or later someone is going for Brady's knees if they keep running up the score." Not only are the media telling players that they should be mad at the Pats for running up the score, which I'm still convinced most are not, but they're saying, in a roundabout and backhanded way, that it would be a normal and justifiable reaction to scoring too many points for a player to cheat and threaten a HOF QB's career. Not only is this logic twisted and dangerous, but it's also revealing of the media's stance towards the Pats as they are pretty much willing this to happen. I have a new idea, from now on why doesn't any member of the media whose atleast somewhat objective or even favorable to the Pats say this, "if someone goes after Brady's knees, sooner or later that person is going to have to fear for his health not only from the players but from the fans." I am usually a reasonable fan, and I like to think that I'm not a mindless homer, but if I was ever around someone who ended Brady's career I'd probably throw a rock at his head, so I can only imagine what some actually crazy fans would do. The media needs to start making this point before something happens to a Pats player that is totally uncalled for, and this escalates from a media-manufactured story to a seriously ugly situation.

Why the commissioner doesn't step in for the good of the game and say as much, i don't understand. A memo goes around about something esoteric like the location of where videotaping of signals may occur, but something important like the safety of the very best player in the NFL is ignored?

where was all this talk about Manning's knees for the 2 years straight that he ran up scores?

what about the time they ran up the score on the pats by GOING FOR 2 instead of kicking the extra point late in the game?

i don't get these morons.

As long as they keep winning the hype is just going to get worse. The Patriots are high on the radar and the media is looking for any angle to sell a story.

The Commissioner is too busy calling players like Brady personnally to hand out fines for not buckling chin straps

I think the idea that you people have that the media is condoning "going after Brady" is ridiculous. Do you really think a defensive lineman will take out Brady because the media talked about it?! C'mon. Just because the media is discussing it, doesn't mean that most people weren't, on some level, already thinking it. If Brady gets injured, I can assure you it won't have ANYTHING to do with what Joe-Shmoe sports analyst said.

I'm sure that someone must have alrady made this observation but let me re-iterate it:

before anyone "gets to Brady's knees" , first they have to get to Brady. Not to many people have been successful at that so far.

We're not talking about a normal play situation here like Kimo or even Wilfork. We're talking about after a play is dead, Brady starts to walk back up the huddle, his linemen are walking back too, some getting up off the ground, whatever - THEN some goon called in by a coach sucker kicks his knee from behind or something. Like how they do it in hockey, with a guy off the street called in just for that purpose so if he gets banned it's no big deal.

Ahh I see. This is *not* hockey. There is no precedent or tradition of attacking a player after the play is over. But let's assume for argument's sake that some misguided LB let's his emotions get the best of him and attacks Brady. He is attempting to remove *the* most popular and recognizable face of the NFL. I think a season long or even a life-time ban might be meted out as punishment for that offense. We are talking about $$$ here not some ephemeral notion of "honor". we are talking about taking money out of other player's paychecks.

Not to mention that *he* would then become the target of every Pats player (or Brady sympathizer...of which there are many in the player ranks) and it would be *his* health and career that would be in jepardy.

This is why you will never see this kind scenario actually happen no mattter how much the jealous masses of opposition fans hope for it.

Now if some Kamakazi wants to try to take out Beli, well maybe that's a different story. But I for one go to sleep at night without a worry over TB's knees.
