Default Nervous Nellies, our Defense is fine...

1) We got healthier on Sunday...we rested Seymour,T Brown,Morris,Watson and the 2 Jacksons and 2 STers and NO NEW Injuries...
2) At this time in the last 5 years we averaged about 7-8 guys on IR so far this year we've legitimately lost a backup CB and TE.
3) Every opponent we have faced has acknowledged that we have had our way with them...7 Blowouts speaks for itself...
4) Why risk injury when we can give the opponent the small stuff as long as they burn up the clock...its GOOD strategy...
5) Until the last 2 games our defense was #2 in the league, we basically allowed more because we scored more and don't want to be percieved as running up the score...Heck in the 2nd half we LET Miami outscore us 21-7 and people still whined that we ran up the score for protecting our lead...
6) Fact is our defense is better than our stats, when it became the best strategy to let the opposing teams run out the clock for us, thier stats SEEM better but not in reality
7) The Miami game was the 1st game all year we didn't DOMINATE time of possesion...
8) When Seymour returns Everyone will play better...just as MOSS made our offense unstoppable a healthy Seymour will improve the D
9) Even with Seymour we may (40% IMO) lose to INDY... or drop another game(s) ro other respectable competition, HOWEVER, we have not yet even tried to play 4 quarters of football against anyone YET...
10) We have BB, the defensive GURU all is well...
11) We are human and we need to remain healthy and humble
12) Bruschi and Seau are doing GOOD...
13) We have really been cautious and rested/not played the injured players such as AD and Colvin
14) Our DBs are playing in Career years, I believe Samuel, Gay and Hobbs must play all world to justify the Salaries they want next year

I'm certain you can add to this list, but the gist is OUR D is top 5...maybe top 1 when Seymour returns...
Your Thoughts..........

Default Re: (Please be quiet - edited) nervous Nellies our Defense is fine...

How some people can chicken little over the defense when we are blowing out opponents by unprecidented margins is further proof that you can't please everyone.

These people won't be happy unless we are winning every game 82-0 and half the opposition's offensive players have committed suicide or retired early to work on their comeovers and cliche-rich football analysis.

I don't think giving the other team a few garbage yards/points is really a cause for panick about our defense.

I'm not sure if you included this in there jct, but what's more, we only play better as the season progresses (or at least in past seasons we always showed improvements as a team). And that includes the offense, who are still building chemistry.
