Skins have a large and fanatic fan base who will bet heavily on them regardless of the odds. Dolphins fans hate their team, and are unwilling to bet on them. This alone would account for some of the point difference.
one team's fanbase has a negligible effect on the line one way or the other. And this sure doesn't sound like fanaticism:

Hold up, Its ok to call the team into question but calling out the fan's love for the team is another. Wait till you're window is closed and you return to the Pats of old. Let's see how many fair-weather fans you have. Even with a decade of bad playing the fans have sold out that stadium, even when norv turner was the coach. The link you posted are fans who respect the pats and understand the team is an underdog but don't call out the redskins fan base.
as far as i can tell, there's no reason to believe our offense will be stopped regardless of how much better the skins D is. our offense has been "unstoppable" all season.
i'm sure that after we destroy the colts.....Polian will be crying to the league for changes in the rules to help the defensive secondary. lmao, the league changes the rules and belichik is the 1st to take advantage of it....what else is new
Regardless of how mismatched teams are (i.e. miami and NE), there's just never going to be an outrageous point spread. I don't think you'll see one over twenty in the NFL.
I think a spread of 16 is basically vegas saying "we think it's going to be a blow out but this is just about our ceiling"
supposedly there are professionals on both sides of the ball, although it can be hard to tell sometimes.
The skins could easily be 6-0 and they really should have best GB to be be 5-1. They have a solid defense with a very good secondary. I think they finally found their QB in Jason Campbell, he's young and just needs to gain some experience. Decent WR's, nice TE in Cooley and a good 1-2 running game.
I think the skins will give us a good game but they have trouble finishing on offense and they're certainly not in the Pats league nobody is. They already beat Miami and will roll through NYJ and Buffalo, so I think they're better than 3/4's of the AFC East.

By Pats of old, do you mean the great teams in the late 70's?
The AFC champion team of 1985?
The solid team of the mid 90's, AFC champions in 1996?
Just curious.
I guess we will have to wait until at least 2013 to find out, since Belichick is signed up until then.
That should make for twenty years of good football teams, going back to the Bledsoe era.
Of course, if Belichick is not extended past 2013, what makes you think this team will resemble something from the 1960's?
We're at home, not away and, unlike last week, so it would probably be 10--13 if we were playing in DC. I also think the line might contract a bit in the next day or so. But, to answer your question, No, they are not as bad as the Dolphins.

i assume you're a 'skins fan out here for the week. Welcome. Keep your comments knowledgeable and polite and you will find a nice reception.
As for your comment, I agree that the Redskins fanbase is among the most dedicated and loyal in all of Football. How else could Dan Snyder have built a billion dollar franchise with an inconsistent (at best) team.
As for the "days of old," you have to go back to the '70's to find a consistently losing team. Since 1985, the team's record is 194--164, with seven losing seasons out of 22 years (three of them in the years between Berry and Parcells).

don't make me laugh. Come on, let's be civil here. Your saying the pats were a strong franchise before, please. YOu sound like eagle fans. What makes you think after brady is gone that the team will not stink again. You saw what happened when the backup went in against Miami. It happens to all great teams. I hope you don't think your franchise is better then the steelers or cowboys because then you're just insane.
