AP reports former Indianapolis Colts SS/FS Dexter Reid was arrested Thursday on a fugitive warrant stemming from a gun charge in Virginia Beach. Police charged the 26-year-old Norfolk native with two felony counts of illegal weapon possession. Reid attracted police attention after parking his car illegally in a handicapped space at a fast food restaurant, said Christi Golden, a Chesapeake police spokeswoman. Police observed a handgun under an envelope in the 2000 Cadillac sedan after Reid gave them permission to move his car to avoid additional fines. Police said they also found a loaded AK semiautomatic pistol in the trunk. A records check later indicated an outstanding warrant from Virginia Beach, police said. Reid, of Chesapeake, was indicted in Virginia Beach earlier this month on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon. In June, a Virginia Beach grand jury indicted Reid on a felony charge of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. He is set to stand trial on that charge Oct. 9. The New England Patriots drafted Reid in the fourth round in 2004. He was part of the Patriots' Super Bowl-winning team in 2005 and earned a second ring as part of the Colts this year. The Colts released him shortly after February's Super Bowl win.

I actually shot AK-47s in south asia and they are better than our M-16s. I could definitely see why he would want one but I do think he needs to learn the laws of this country.

meh, i shot one in Afghanistan. It jams alot and it is not very accurate. It is a bigger caliber though
I wonder what old Dexter scored on his wonderlic test,it couldn't have been over 5. How does someone get busted for illegal possesion of a concealed weapon, and weed. Then not just carry a a couple of guns illegaly again but allow a cop to get in his car with the guns. Like you said either he's an acute dumbazz, or he's on a high, high.

thats funny cause alot of military books ive read, they are all pretty much unanimous in saying how the ak47 sucks.. its not accurate at all..

His score was 18. It's at the lower end, but given that the Pats '04 draft class wasn't the most cranial crew (Wilfork scored a 10, Hill 13, Cedric Cobbs 14, Guss Scott 17) with the exception of Watson at 41, Reid falls somewhere in the middle of the pact.
I've shot both and feel th AK is superior at a shorter range it has more "penatration and knock down power" because of the heavier bullet. I thought it handled better and was easier to point on target.I had no trouble with accuracy, and because there built with much losser tolerances than an M16 they jam LESS in poor conditions like mud, sand, and dirt. There built for low maintanance and rough use. I would think it would be ideal in an urban setting.

Then he must have killed more than a few brain cells since then.
