Default OT: Bummer for Graham

I feel bad for the dude, but did anybody happen to see him drop that ball yesterday? I always really liked him.

The Jaguars controlled the game so well that Shanahan, out of timeouts and with his headset malfunctioning, went for it on fourth-and-5 from his own 9 with more than four minutes remaining and his team trailing 20-14 after Henry's 6-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter.

"I just had a gut feeling with the way they were controlling the tempo of the game that that would give us the best chance to win," Shanahan said. "And it almost turned out good."

Tight end Daniel Graham dropped the potential first-down pass.

"I just hit the ground and dropped the ball, it's on me," said Graham, who spiked the ball in frustration, giving the Jaguars the ball at the 4.

I like him too, but that's why he's there, not here.

Kyle Brady can't run like him, but the pass catching drop off is greatly exaggerated on this board.

You've never seen Brady try diving for a catch, I'm guessing.

Yea, I think that Kyle Brady is a huge benifit. That catch he made yesterday was pretty sweet too!

There was a lot of talk, seemingly from Graham about being incorrectly utilized - well that is what I remember, but it could have been generated by the frick'n media so who knows?

Looking forward, I think that the pats are doing ok. Kyle Brady is a beast. And he was in for a ton of plays yesterday, did you see that?

BB seems to love him

Go read what Shanahan was saying about Graham last week. The Broncos are loving Graham so far. This is a case where a tight end tried to make a diving catch but couldn't hold onto the ball after he hit the ground.

He was man enough to accept responsibility but unfortunately for him, it happened before. The Redskins game in '03 (last loss before the long winning streak) ended on a 4th down drop by Graham at the Skins 38 yard line or so with less than minute left..with a ball that IIRC was catchable.

It was over when ...
The Broncos went for a questionable fourth-and-5 from their own 9-yard line with just over four minutes remaining. David Graham dropped a beautiful pass from Jay Cutler, and the change of possesion set up a chippy field goal for the Jaguars, who went on to take a nine-point lead that held up for the win.

One of his reasons for going to Denver was he would have more pass catching opportunities. He did not want to be just a blocker. No catches yesterday for a 3 games total of 4 recs for 33 yards (0 Tds). Meanwhile, Benjamin Watson has 9 catches for 75 yards (3 Tds).

I predict you are going to be flamed for this comment.

Brady blocks well enough to save us a HUGE amount of money over Grambo, and we have other people to catch the ball on the team who have MUCH softer hands than Grambo.

I like Grambo as a person. And I am glad as hell that he dropped the ball as a Donkey.
