Default Can this team survive without Belichick?

A followup to the theory in the "BB may have to resign" thread is:

Can this team survive without Belichick?
Or will we slowly spiral into the team we were from 97-00?

Is BB's philosophy ingrained into this franchise such that even without him, it would behave as it has in the past 5 years? Or would it completely change with a new head coach?

Is there anyone within the organization that can keep the BB philosophy alive?

I think the above are valid quesitons. Even if cameragate is forgotten in 2 weeks, BB is eventually going to resign (whether its next year, after brady retires, or sometime else).

There's only two (maybe 3) ppl leaving that scare me -- Brady & Belichick (& maybe Pioli). I'm not sure if either are readily replaceable...Whereas anyone else (players & coaches) can be replaced within an offseason

no it can't.

it will be like after bill walsh left. HIS players will keep it going for a bit, but after a few years it will be all over. once belichick's players age, without new talent and continual development, it will end within a few years.

Can this team survive? Absolutely. This would be a very lucrative job for alot of coaches. We'd find a good one.

Would the team be the same? Never.

Belichick is the autistic savant of the NFL. He is to football what Beethoven was to music and Einstien was to physics.

Guys like Belichick, Walsh and Lombardi are special. Coaches are a dime a dozen. Innovators are rare.

This team can survive, anyone is replaceable. Do I wan't BB gone NO, but it would not be the end of the world if he did leave as the gentleman above me seems to think.

That being said the guy I would hate to lose is Pioli.

It will come to end with or without BB. Of course the 9ers kept it going, they had great players. As soon as they got older and some left for FA, it ended. Not all of it was wrapped into the coach. Just with NE, it is not all about BB. It is about the players too. As Brady and others get older, with or without BB, it will end.

Yes, we will survive just fine. Just consider yourself lucky to see all these good years. In spite of what anyone says, we won fair and square.

But Belichick must go. The sooner, the better.

Good lord. I didn't watch the boards for a few hours, then come back to this at the top of the page. Glad to hear he hasn't resigned/been fired in the past few hours.
Just my two cents, but the thread title is a bit misleading.
