Default If BB has been doing this all along...

...and it's such a big deal, and he's such a cheater and blah blah blah blah, why didn't someone STOP him.

He was not doing it surreptitiously AT ALL. He had a cameraman in plain view of dozens of thousands of people and a national audience of millions recording another man in plain view of dozens of thousands of people and a national audience of millions. If this act gains such an edge, if it is really that big a deal, why didn't any other team stop him before? Why didn't the NFL stop him before?

That's what I really don't get about this. The national public belief is that our championships are tainted, that BB has been recording signals all along. IF he was doing it all along, IF this has been an additional means of scouting for BB all along, is it not the job of the league or other team's to prevent him from doing it if it's truly "cheating."

There's no logic to the "Patriots are tarnished" viewpoint, and it makes me want to vomit that there's nothing that the Patriots can do to change this tarnished image.

I honestly can't believe Pats fans are still hung up on this. This "rule" was followed more in the breach than the observance throughout the NFL. It was a running joke, and its "violation" was considered gamesmanship by all parties. Only when the Jets leaked it to the press, out of context, and whipped up a firestorm in the process, did Doofus Goodell decide to act to quiet the media circus. What he should have done is fined the Jets for leaking league business to the press, fined the Pats for a technical breach of etiquette, and issued a stern warning that future violations would result in loss of draft picks. That would have ended the circus. Instead, his foolish and draconian ruling, prompted by fear of the media beast, and pushed by the mortal enemies of our franchise, has opened up a Pandora's box of accusations, smearing countless innocent, hardworking people. Doofus Goodell failed his first real test as Commissioner. Mangini failed his first real test as a man. Both of them aren't long for the league, IMO. I hope the Krafts pull the rug out from under the CBA, and go capless into a brave new world.

In my opinion, Kraft will not knowingly risk the value of his franchise (now worth over a billion dollars) because he is outraged that his hand-picked Commissioner chose to punish his team for actions that Kraft agrees are against the rules. I suggest that is more likely that he will make sure the rules are changed instead of againn voting "no" on electronic transmission of defensive signals. This time he will not allow his expert on defense rules, one the league's best on rules interpretation (Belichick), affect his decision.

For the record-in that SB with the Eagles, the Pats made adjustments in the SECOND QUARTER(*not* at halftime, like everyone is making us to believe).

And on top of that, the Eagles' D was subsequently exposed(as more teams have success in gashing them with the run and screen pass).

Another thing about those loser Eagles is that they keep on saying how Pats ran a screen every time they blitzed. Well from what I remember Patriots ran screen like every other play... why.... oh thats right because Eagles blitz every freaking play, everyone knows this... even commentators say this every freaking time those ***** Eagles play.

Had that video camera been up in the coach's booth doing whatever it was doing on the sidelines, they'd be no issue here at all.

What I've asked myself is if the Pats have been doing this for years and is such a big advantage why havent they one a Superbowl the last two years, beaten the Colts the last3 times and played better against the Fins ( the Fins always challege them very well even when they win).

.

It seems the only reason that this was made an issue now is because Mangina chose to make it an issue plus the fact that a formerly popular black QB playing for the Falcons got a very heavy hit (deservedly so, for killing dogs for sport) and the faint hearts at NFL central don't want to be called "racists", are scared to death Jesse and Al are gonna go to their media enablers and cry "racism!!".

Iow, it's pathetic.

Stealing signals is not cheating acording to the NFL - it is officially sanctioned.

The question of videotaping is different - my understanding is that is a BRAND NEW RULE as of last week.

So anyone crying about past wins/losses, Super Bowl victories doesn't have a leg to stand on - if they cry foul its because they are being purposefully ignorant.

What we have here is BB violating a brand new rule - and paying dearly for it.

But there's nothing tarnished about past Patriots victories - anyone who thinks so is deluding themselves, and I'm not going to concern myself with the views of ignorant fans, players or sports writers.

I don't think we would be if it weren't for the national media trying to bring us down. I turned on NBC national news the other nite and there was a story about the Patriots being "cheaters".

I thought I could pretend that I care less what other people think about the Pats, but I do. I hate that they think we are cheaters when there is no basis in reality for that way of thinking.
