I'm not as sure down on the Browns are you but God help them if they traded Darren McFadden and, say, Kevin Kolb for Quinn. Or Glenn Dorsey instead of McFadden. It pains me to write that.

They got the top left tackle and the quarterback they wanted. Now. They paid a high price but got what they wanted. They also picked up steinbach for the line.

The big problem is dealing with Savage,

As with most coaches that go to the Browns, Romeo won't be given the time or permission to do what he needs to do to win.

The bad news is that it appears that Romeo is part of the very long list of great coordinators who can't successfully make the step up to HC. The good news is that the poster boy of that club is bringing his San Diego Chargers in here Sunday.

Romeo had the blank stare yesterday that Pete Carroll and Art Shell made famous in their most recent NFL head coaching stints. Nothing the Browns did yesterday went right. I was at my favorite bar watching the Pats and 10 Steelers fans were whooping and hollering every two minutes, whether it was a Steelers TD, a sack on Frye or a Browns turnover. I couldn't help but look over at their TV to see what all the fuss was about and every time I did, there was a shot of Romeo looking like he was dreaming of a vacation somewhere.

Regards,
Chris
