Wink Should we feel sorry for Jets fans?

I think that we are a compassionate group. We have had our ups and downs as Patriots fans. However, the NY Jets have had very little ups and an abundance of way downs.

Since the merger they have not been to a Super Bowl. They have only been to one AFCCG and lost (1998). They have won only 2 AFC East titles and one of those, 2002, was decided in the 3rd tie breaker with us.

On the other hand, we have have won 9 AFC East titles, been to 6 AFCCG's (winning 5), and 5 super Bowls, winning 3.

Those are some of the reasons we might feel sorry for Jets fans. But, there are more.

So, should we feel sorry for them?

Pity, yes. Compassion, no.

I don't feel sorry for them. When they have their day in the sun (hopefully not for a long time), we're going to have to hear their fans going nuts about it for the whole offseason.

Another reason: they have to play their home game in a place called Giants Stadium.

I have a tendency to feel bad for passionate fans of bad teams: Lions, Cardinals, Bengals, Browns... However let's be honest here, New England was right among them until the Kraft/Parcells Era started up so every dog has their day. And if Jets fans weren't so damn boistrous I might wish them well more then I do. Kind of like Eagles fans, I respect the team, hate the fans...and therefore usually root against them.

Then you'll have to still share a stadium with the Giants.

I feel no compassion for the Jets or their fans. For me, happiness is to see them crushed by the Patriots, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Don't forget we snatched Vince Lombardi II from them. Except that didn't quite realize it at the time...
