A league source tells us that there are rumors on the NFL grapevine that Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour will miss the entire 2007 season.

So a league source was told this by a grape?

Sorry about the Seymour, always hate to see a gladiator like him go down.

Even if the Pats were aware that the injury could keep Seymour out for the season, what could they do, it's not like defensive ends for 3/4 defense grow on trees.

Best the Jets could come up with was Bowen.

Point is the Pats probaly are not getting taken by surprise here.

Seems like a lot of people are starting to think what I've thought for awhile...PFT is a waste of space! They literally can put anything they want up there and people will read it.

Given the choice I would rather he be ready at play off time. Thats like asking would you rather be stabbed in the elbow or the knee, I'd rather not be stabbed at all.

I don't know that I think his roster spot is that valuable. If he's not hurt, but you want to keep him fresh, then rotate him more. What type of shape do you think he will be in for week 7? I suppose if you think Jarvis is a great back up, then it works, but then, why have him on your team at all? I just don't see BB stashing him there on purpose, that's all.
