By Miguel's count, the Pats have 82 people tendered or under contract. Baugher has an NFLE Exemption and Samuel isn't officially signed. So that makes it 80.

So, they have to cut 5 or 6 total.

Like was mentioned, the Pats could move guys like David Thomas, Chad Jackson, Eddie Jackson and Troy Brown to the Reserve/PUP making it so they would be out until week. That would be 4 of the 6 players they would need to move to get to the 75 limit. Unless Seymour's injury is worse than reported, I don't see him being moved to the Reserve PUP.

The following 6 are the players that I would cut to get to the 75 man limit:
Larry Anam, Zach West, Chris Dunlap, Corey Hilliard, Chad Brown, Kelvin Kight.

One caveat, depending on the extent of their injuries, Hochstein and Richardson could end up on the IR.

I don't think that Brian Jones will be cut this time around unless Kyle Brady is 100% healthy and they plan on using him in the next game heavily. Otherwise, I see them keeping Jones just to get reps and take pressure off of Rivers, Watson, and K. Brady.

Actually with Samuel the number is 81...and there are no NFLE Exemptions at this point.

Miguel still has Bissinger listed. I'll alert him...

So that's 80, or 81 if Samuel does sign today. NFLE exemptions expire today, remember.

My 6 guesses:

-Tory James cut (OR Richardson IR'd)
-Dunlap cut
-West cut
-Kight cut (would be Jones, but he had a few nice returns)
-Patrick cut
-Anam cut

We'll see how that goes. Last year, IIRC, I was about 75% correct on the 75-man cut.

I'd hold onto Kelvin Kight in hopes of getting him back onto the practice squad. There are plenty of other candidates, guys who just haven't done anything in games.

Chris Patrick, the OL they picked up and haven't noticeably used.
Santonio Thomas, who has clearly been passed by Kareem Brown and Le Kevin Smith.
Rashard Baker, overtaken by Willie Andrews and Mel Mitchell.

Completely agree on the others - Anam, West, Dunlap, Hilliard, Brown.

I think the number needs to be 6 or 7 with Samuel signing sometime today.

Reserve PUP - Troy Brown, Chad Jackson, Eddie Jackson and Dave Thomas. (I know that he has been with the team and is spotted doing sprints, but he needs the PUP time to finish rehab and get into game shape.)

That Leaves 2 or 3, I will go with three...
DL -Z. West (has he done anything?)
WR - C. Dunlap
WR - C.J. Jones

A more interesting question would be, are there any guys the Patriots might cut early to try and get them to the PS?

He had 1, which is the only catch of his career.

Might as well cut Kight, because Jones has proven more valuable on returns.

BTW, I don't think you can move guys from the active to reserve PUP until the final cuts. They should be releasing 6 guys today (assuming Asante signs).
