Default Stallworth takes blame for 2 INT

http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal...on_stallworth/

I slipped on the first one and the second one Tom threw the ball where I was supposed to be and I wasn't exactly where I was supposed to be," Stallworth said. "There are no excuses. It's just something where I have to learn the way Tom plays and understand the way this offense is supposed to be run."

Good to see him stepping up even in the preseason.

He could say nothing, like Brady did. He could have given the old cliche" We have to improve". Instead he took the blame on himself, seems to me that is the kind of guy you want, but if you think differently....

Yeah, Stallworth stood up and took the blame. That's good, and it reinforces why there are such things as pre-season games. There were many ugly things last night that I'm hoping are corrected never to be seen again. Maybe this game becomes far more important as a demonstration to the team that there's work to do to achieve excellence. They certainly weren't even close last night, and all the words about how they don't believe their own press clippings are meaningless unless the message was driven home hard. We'll see how this plays in the next game, but this may have been the best thing for this team at this point in the pre-season.

Still keeping fingers crossed for no injuries, as there were several players limping and on their backs last night.

Nice to see him take the blame for it although there is enough blame to pass around to everyone. Stallworth being out for as long as he was didn't help things either and are that much further behind because of it.

I hope they get some extra reps in (Moss too) to the passing game up to speed quickly. You can see Brady isn't comfortable/confident in his new receiers yet. Too much hesitation while he is going through his reads (basing this off of what has been said and what I have seen from highlights).

He didn't really have a ton of time last night either. He drops back and as his back foot hits the ground he is pump faking or scrambling to get away from pressure.

Also, don't look for the video from the game to provide much insight. The quality of channel 5's coverage was horrible and in some cases you couldn't see the play develop. In other cases you could see the play but couldn't see Brady.

I'm just saying let's not read too much into this. Obviously you want character guys.

Stallworth is a keeper. Taking responsibility. Fitting in in the locker room (joking around with Maroney). And that 97 speed in Madden....

It's unfortunate that Stallworth and Moss haven't been available for significant practice time as there is a need to develop timing with their QB.

But let me remind everyone that plenty of people were making excuses for Reche Caldwell well into November of last season noting that it was still "too soon" to expect him to pick up the offense and timing.

My feeling is that was WAY too long for a guy who was available all through camp and into the season to use that as an excuse... but I'd assume all of those folks are going to cut Stallworth and Moss even MORE slack seeing as they've not been on the field.

Luckilly the team can carry Gaffney, Caldwell, Moss, Stallworth, Welker - and even Washington if they want to so long as Brown and Jackson are on PUP/IR.

Unfortunately without Stallworth and Moss up to speed we're probably going to forgoe the trade value we would likely get for trading one of our 4-6 WRs. But all in all I'd rather have depth this season than an extra draft pick next season, so I'm zen with that.

Stallworth can take the blame if he wants to but the real blame goes directly on "Todd" Light and friends. Too much pressure on the QB.
